I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read on the train.

Some of my favorite quotes:

"People Eating Tasty Animals"

"Enjoy the little things in live because one day you'll look back & realize they were the big things."

"Never regret something that once made you smile."

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wished he didn't trust me so much." Mother Teresa

here goes...

And Then They Came for Me takes its title from a well

known poem by the Lutheran pastor Rev. Martin Niemoeller, a German, in 1945.

"In Germany,

the Nazis first came for the Communists,

and I did not speak up,

for I was not a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews,

and I did not speak up,

for I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists,

and I did not speak up,

for I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics,

and I did not speak up,

for I was a Protestant.

And then they came for me,

and by that time,

no one was left to speak up."

I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.

- Susan B. Anthony

History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition

was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.

-Martin Luthur king Jr, activist

Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.

John Keating: Close your eyes - closure! Close 'em! Now, describe what you see.

Todd Anderson: I... I close my eyes, and this image floats beside me.

John Keating: A sweaty-toothed madman.

Todd Anderson: A sweaty-toothed madman with a stare that pounds my brain.

John Keating: Oh, that's *excellent*! Now, give him action - make him do something!

Todd Anderson: His hands reach out and choke me.

John Keating: That's it! Wonderful, wonderful!

Todd Anderson: And all the time he's mumbling.

John Keating: What's he mumbling?

Todd Anderson: Mumbling truth... Truth's like a blanket that always leaves your feet cold.

John Keating: [some of the class start to laugh] Forget them, forget them! Stay with the blanket. Tell me about that blanket!

Todd Anderson: Y-You push it, stretch it, it'll never be enough. You kick at it, beat it, it will never cover any of us.

From the moment we enter crying to the moment we leave dying, it will cover just your head as you wail and cry and scream!

[class appauds]

John Keating: Don't you forget this.

He who knows not, and knows that he knows not can be taught...teach him.

He who knows, and knows not that he knows, is asleep...wake him.

Well, this one isn't really a quote, but an excerpt from a speech.

"And last but not least, just to be able to take this thing home to my girls, in particular, and hold it in front of them and say, “Look, with this skin and this nose, and this height, and these arms,” you know, “I’m here!” Whoo!"

From Chandra Wilson at the SAG awards. If anyone saw that speech, it totally rocked.

Gordie: Alright, alright, Mickey's a mouse, Donald's a duck, Pluto's a dog, what's Goofy?

Teddy: Goofy's a dog. He's definitely a dog.

Chris: He can't be a dog. He drives a car and wears a hat.

Vern: Oh, God. That's weird. What the hell is Goofy?

Teddy: This is my age! I'm in the prime of my youth and I'll only be young once.

Chris: Yeah, but you're gonna be stupid for the rest of your life.

Vern: Do you think mighty Mouse could beat up Superman?

Teddy: What are you, cracked?

Vern: Why not? I saw the other day, he was carrying five elephants in one hand!

Teddy: Boy, you don't know nothing! Mighty Mouse is a cartoon. Superman's a real guy. There's no way a cartoon could beat up a real guy.

Vern: Yeah, maybe you're right. It'd be a good fight, though.
