A year later, they're trying to figure a way to fix this -- otherwise, the law would stay that way until 2009 when the people who write the Arkansas laws will meet again. Now, for the article about what's going on as of March: "Representative Will Bond backed legislation last year that mistakenly allowed anyone, even toddlers, to marry in Arkansas with parental consent. With a special legislative session starting next week, he'll be asking for a do-over. Bond is proposing a bill to repeal the botched law he sponsored. Bond's new bill will return the minimum marriage age to 17 for boys and 16 for girls, rather than try to correct the typo that caused the embarrassing mistake..."
