Most complex crop circle ever discovered in UK

Sorry, I was in the middle of replying to this a few days ago, but got bored and quit.

This was the main article I was looking at:

randi.org

"The two hoaxers were Róbert Dallos and Gábor Takács. They were high school students who had read about crop circles in the newspapers and decided to make their very own. As students of agriculture, they knew that wet grass can be bent without breaking it, and they had noted heavy rains just before the night of June 8, when they created the figure. That was two weeks before the helicopter pilot discovered it."

If a couple of kids can work out one way to bend stalks without breaking them, I'm sure a bunch of guys who have been doing it for years, have equipment and money could find a more convincing way.

The wildest theory I'm willing to go to is the military satellite microwave laser beam. But even that's stretching it. I don't see anything to link crop circles to extra-terrestrials.

Most of them are just really badly done hoaxes. The rest are slightly better done hoaxes. Just because you can't disprove something, it doesn't mean you should go jumping to wild conclusions. Gather more evidence before you start speculating.

Thanks for the link. There is not enough informatiom on that page to qualify these young hoaxers as being anything to do with the 'real' phenomenon. It is very terse in what it divulges and even mentions the use of planks and rope in a debunking context. You do realise that the storks are not just 'bent without being broken' (as that link appears to presume is the limit of qualifying data for a 'real' circle), the storks are actually molecularly altered and the water and nutrients within the stalks at those points have been boiled within. They are not just 'bent without being broken', far from it. That's why if you look at the close-up images of the stems of corn storks taken from this new circle they have those curious 'bands' around them. That's what boiling does to the skin. Moreover they are uniformly molecularly altered and boiled within at the same height from the ground. I am unimpressed with the information on that link and discount it as an unworthy point of reference in this enquiry.

Thanks for the response, however. Keep em coming!

The guys over at www.circlemakers.org have made numerous crop circles in which "experts" in the field have come in and declared them genuine, only to have video footage of the circles being made. They use the plank method and in doing so just naturally create many of the features that are often used to determine a circle as being genuine.

Many of the ones which have been proven fakes weren't discovered for weeks after they were made. That being the case, I think it damages the idea that these things absolutely HAVE to be made overnight. I mean yes, common sense says a hoax of that size would need to be finished as quickly as possible. But that isn't an absolute. (::edit:: ) And for that matter, since most crop circles are fractal/geometric shapes. Whose to say some of the non-symmetrical crop circles aren't unfinished ones. If your going to plan something ahead on that level, divide it into sections and do each over various times. If it gets discovered before your finished, you've still left behind a complete looking image. Or even those that are symmetrical and on a very large scale. If you start in the center and work your way out theres not a whole lot of points where you could stop and have it look unfinished. Its like a tribal tattoo. You can stop at anytime, or keep going as big as you like. Its going to look finished no matter what you do as long as the lines that are there get filled in.

Oh and I remember seeing at least one article were someone had been arrested for it. And another in which the owners of the farm that had multiple circles claimed to know a friend of theirs had done it but refused to make it public. I'll see if I can find either of these again.

Heres a brief video clip about the subject.

Oh and I thought I'd throw in an interesting little segment of the circlemakers page.

What first inspired you to start circle making?

Rod Dickinson (RD): The gradual realisation that the formations were the work of human hands (in 1991) inevitably led to my first attempt at making a circle. I remember being convinced we had made a horrible mess, and I began to think I had been wrong, and that people couldn't in fact be responsible for any of the formations, until I saw the local paper a couple of days later...A well known local investigator claimed our horrible mess had all the hallmarks of the 'genuine' phenomena, bent-but-not-broken-stalks, flowing-crop-lay etc.

My view of the circles, the people or groups that attend them, and the media was turned upside down. Almost immediately after I had made this circle I realised that there was an extraordinary space that could be - and was best - occupied by artists. Later that year of course I realised that I was following in the foot steps of Doug and Dave, and other circlemaking groups.

Very interesting article. It's cool how aliens would use a "dot" as a decimal point the same as humans.

Actually as part of the world is going into a mini ice age, another part in going into global warming. If humans a partially responsible for it, they are not the cause. In 19th century, Western Europe produces more carbon monoxide than we did, yet there was no warming. Our planet is a living entity and breezes like we do... 6000 years ago, Egypt was a greenish savanna, and the Sahara desert has been growing in size for the past 400 years. Whoever say that humans did is not looking at the big picture.
