atom286 Posted August 27, 2008 #152 Share Posted August 27, 2008 Obama! I pray to God another republican isn't elected president. Is he still with us, did he get assasinated? I think the CIA will have the next pop at him.

It's incredible how stupid some of these posts are...
twpdyp Posted August 27, 2008 #155 Share Posted August 27, 2008 John McCain with no doubt in my mind. He is the closest to a Reagan republican running. Ohh in case it was not obvious I am a ultra conservative right wing republican.

There's nothing conservative about the republican party.
twpdyp Posted August 27, 2008 #157 Share Posted August 27, 2008 No you aren't. If you were ultra conservative you wouldn't vote republican. There's nothing conservative about the republican party. And there is nothing democratic about the Democrats. Mostly consisting of communistic ideals stolen straight from Marx. Hell Obama will not even place his hand over his heart during the playing of the national anthem, wear a simple lapel pin of the US flag. A man who dishonors the country in these ways is not fit to lead it.

A man who dishonors the country in these ways is not fit to lead it. Would you Right Wads come up with something better than "COMMIE!!!!" My God. It's false, desperate, and patently stupid. I could compare the Republican Party to the Nazi Party, considering the only people to benefit financially in Hitler's Germany was the government and corporations, but I won't. And what the hell does putting your hand over your heart have to do with anything? I put mine behind my back. And so what if he doesn't wear a simple lapel pin. He doesn't wear it because it's a simple lapel pin, that doesn't mean anything. I can go around wearing a Pro-Abortion T-Shirt, but that doesn't mean I'm for abortion. What matters is your actions. Unless you can find something he has done that is disrespectful to his country, then your post should be considered nothing more than poppycock. I've lived in towns with packing plants, here in Nebraska. It's a national disgrace. I'm more than willing to pay more for my meat, so long as those working the meat-packing plants are American citizens and paid a fair wage. Methinks you doeth protest too much. Look, I'm the first to criticize McCain. He was the last choice, for me, of the Republican candidates. Yet, the younger folks posting here seem to not be able to accept any criticism of BHO. They counter any BHO criticism with sometimes ridiculous McCain criticism, in kind. Horrendous insults are floated and thrown out. As a general rule, BHO's gaffes are given a pass by many of us older, more "seasoned" U-M posters. And of course, Ripley is constantly stirring matters of often a ridiculous nature, just trying to raise a fuss. I take no umbrage BHO is winning this popularity poll, here on U-M. I'll not lose any sleep should Obama win the US presidency. I'll not leave the country, as some ridiculous Hollywood types such as Alec Baldwin. I think Obama is a fair candidate, a good man and skilled orator. Yet some of the posters here just might follow Alec Baldwin to Canada, should McCain win. (Not that Baldwin left the country, as he promised.........) If anything I'd like to point out the shrill, unforgiving rhetoric spouted by many of you. The younger folks here seem to make things a matter of life or death or utter pride should things not go quite the way they insist things must go. Step back and take a deep breath. Life is full of triumphs and disappointments. Edited August 28, 2008 by Incorrigible1
The Unseen Posted August 28, 2008 #169 Share Posted August 28, 2008 I'm not rasist but I dont think America is ready for a black pres or a woman vise pres.Just think of all the rasist people fighting and trying to impeach him the second he does somethingthe people dont think is right .the same with the woman vise,We as a society are to imature to accept anyone other than a White man in the oval office,The KKK will have a cow if we put a black man in Office or have a woman vise pres,Even though they are "More than likely better suited and probably more able to handle the job"We because of our one track mind will not allow us to accept that outcome.Mind you I'm not rasist"I hate everyone equilly"(just kidding).only hate those who hate our country and put us down even though they dont live here and hate us because were free.Sad but true. Life is full of triumphs and disappointments. Well, I'm not one of those younger folks you speak of. I prefer to set the record straight, and saying Obama disrespects his country is pure nonsense, or as you would say, idiotic. If anyone has a legitimate argument against Obama, I will not and have not respond/ed with outrageous criticism of McCain. I like John McCain, to be honest. But I don't think he is right for America. So, please don't lump me in with whoever you are speaking of simply because I set the record straight regarding the hand over chest bit.
