This part of the Amazon, once thought to be virgin forest, has in fact been touched by extensive human activity. Crosswings Posted December 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 3, 2012 Back in BC times, of what I know, there were many villages and towns because of the nearest water source. They would go into the forest with spears and or their weapons, get their foods and all then back to the town/ villages. Another thing is, they drank from the river and also bathed in it.
