IamSon, my favorite part was "2 years as the major of Alaska a state of 300 people".

Makes you wonder how true the other "facts" we're seeing thrown out as justification for opposing Gov. Palin are.

The females of the world???? The females of the world? Hilary was running for President of the UNITED STATES not WORLD Dictator! And apparently not even all the women belonging to the Democratic Party wanted her as President! An amazing mother? Really? She taught her daughter by example that it's OK for a man to CHEAT on you in front of the whole country. That it's OK for a man to treat you like trash so he can satisfy his sexual desires. An amazing mother? Give me a break!

You know, Sheri, given how many times you have stated on these forums that women can do it all and do it better than men, it's so obvious that your only problem with Sarah Palin is that she's Pro-responsibility, Pro-life, Pro-guns, Pro-drilling, Pro-low taxes.

son, I have stated why I wouldn't vote for Sarah Pallin, I don't think she is qualified. the most important job one can do is bieng a parent, running a household assuming authority over others and guiding with maturity and experince being grounded in reality are qualitys she does not have IMO at this time....

.

do you think she magically steps out of the arena of parent and morphs into VP qualified and experinced can handle the issues we have as a culture ..

the McCains want the christian vote hon.... they know what cards to play...... :tu:

funny little story bush is instrumental for the charters the govt run home school *smiles big*... the bush admin funds it .. my charter which is actaully awesome in curriula and resources is federal money ..tee hee guess what else remember the home school drama Calif banning it well technically it is but, you must teach a california approved curricula which includes science , guess what else no creationism, it teaches mythology and religions are taught from the start all kinds t but they are not taught as truths ...

so guess what son the govt got its hand in home schooling its a matter of time befoer they are calling the shots in your area.......

I think many are not savvy on the nature of politics.....never ever forget its a game....

...

so knock yourself out vote for Pallin your taxes are going up....and govt is gonna get more in your life....

..remember politics is the art of deception.....

Its a democratic turn anyways ....

What Blessing the Palin’s are going to have a new wee heart within their family…

How does Senator Palin’s Daughter Being Pregnant affect the running of our Nation and our choosing of a proper candidate for present of the

United States of America, it surely wasn’t a deterrent in Election of Senator Bill Clinton in his Personal Moral Stating before he made the U.S. Presidency, nor was it for John Fitzgerald Kennedy, or for all 43 presidents for that matter, and right now our Nation is being Half *** or un wisely Ran buy what many claim to be a far more moral of a President then Bill Clinton was, and it’s being ran right into the Ground, I don’t see Baby Bush’s Blowing Smoke up the Kazoos of the Nation for his and Poppa Bush Greedy frinds and oil barrons and selling out our Nations poor and working class families coming from Strong Godly Morals …

Understanding that a presidential family and a Candidate in running’s family is out into public view, but at what point does the public and Media draw the lines of respect and dignity and allow a family their privacy on a family level, Tabloid Junkies really do need to find a better hobby, and news Media really dose need to stop Tabloid Hyping and Sensationalizing things in peoples family lives and get back to world Journalism pertaining to the world crisis’s at moment and helping the viewing public in understanding the world events and world crisis at hand, get Journalism back to Journalism and out of the Tabloid Business of Scrutinizing and exploiting Families that are wanting to live as normal, regardless of the Political standing …

Hay I am all for Women that Shoot big Guns, keeps the Men from straying, and as for her Daughter’s pregnancy, understand this is a Lime light Media situation created as Senator Palin is getting more into the Light of world recognition, but I believe in Political Family’s have privacy rights and as much as people of the public love Trash and Thrashing and other things of interest both Good and Bad the Privacy and Respect for that families privacy should not just be considered but applied by all human being, I am glad to see the Palin Family have hearts, what a great blessing to be going to have a new wee babe within that family, regardless of how or why that Baby came about, it’s a privet family issue and matter and blessing…

Peace..

Well said.. and the baby was created in love... young love... but love. And will have from what it seems ... a very loving family!

Again... Palin is sticking to her conservative values by supporting her daughter with her pregnancy and embracing becoming a grandparent herself and not encouraging her daughter to have an abortion. That to me is living what you preach!

Here's what's killin Hillary now; she's thinkin....

If she DIVORCED bill...

Became a REPUBLICAN

She'd already have BEEN President.

But, she'd be wrong.

If she WAS a REAL Republican,

The President Would have been "Hillary Rodham _____"

And there never would have BEEN a President Bill Clinton

(pardon if this observation has already been made in prior pages - I wasn't going to read all 15+)

Just imagine asking similar questions of Hillary about Chelsea:

"Mrs. Clinton, when did Chelsea become sexual active?"

"Mrs. Clinton, did you and your husband instruct Chelsea on birth control?"

"Mrs. Clinton, has Chelsea ever indicated she thought she might be pregnant?"

"Mrs. Clinton, how often is Chelsea tested for STDs? Does that include HIV?"

"Mrs. Clintion, was Chelsea a planned pregnancy or a suprise?"

I could go on but you get the picture. How tasteless!!! :(

You really can't imagine it, Master Po, because those things are off limits on the left side of the fence...

Someone close to me mentioned this, and it's interesting to hear a second opinion of this and match the first opinion. It makes me wonder, all these calculated moves and this just for the election. Will those who seem to thrive in calculated moves, will this help our society when the time comes for them to help it when they are in office?

I think many an astute political observer is thinking along the lines I espoused above. In fact, I heard Glenn Beck say virtually the same thing about Hillary this morning!

As to your query, it is well to remember that getting elected to the highest office in the land is alot different from being in that office and executing the duties required of it.

Politicians calculate everything and make moves designed to help them get into office. That's the nature of the game. However, that doesn't necessartily equate to the same modus operandi when they finally hold all of the responsibility. Such things generally bite them in the butt (to wit, Clinton and Nixon...).

I find it odd that so many Dems are slamming this woman for having an unmarried teen aged pregnant daughter. They act as if that's never happened in a Democratic household or something. And what if she didn't stand by her daughter? Would that make them happier? No. They'd hone in on that and tear her up too. She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.

:) ...it's just part of the paradigm, VV. It was expected, and if last night is any indication, the good Governor is slightly up to the task of handling it.

We saw "Sarah Barracuda" last night, and I found her intriguing in a "breath of fresh air" sense.

Her zingers hit to the quick, and were delivered with a smile upon her face.

"I've noticed a pattern with our opponent. Maybe you have, too.

We've all heard his dramatic speeches before devoted followers.

And there is much to like and admire about our opponent.

But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate.

This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word "victory" except when he's talking about his own campaign. But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed ... when the roar of the crowd fades away ... when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot - what exactly is our opponent's plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he's done turning back the waters and healing the planet? The answer is to make government bigger ... take more of your money ... give you more orders from Washington ... and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world. America needs more energy ... our opponent is against producing it."

There is only one reason for opposing her and that is because she is a republican.

If she was a democrat the same ones on here would be praising her.

son, I have stated why I wouldn't vote for Sarah Pallin, I don't think she is qualified.
And Obama is qualified? Let's see, he worked as a "Community Agitatator, uhm Organizer" with no actual executive responsibilities. Then he went to the state senate where making decisions was so hard the majority of his votes were "Present" (Basically: "Yeah, I was here, but no one has told me what I should think so I can't actually vote 'Yes' or 'No'."). Then he went to the U.S. Senate where he.. began his run for the presidency less than a year after getting elected... Oh yeah LOADS of qualifications there!

the most important job one can do is bieng a parent, running a household assuming authority over others and guiding with maturity and experince being grounded in reality are qualitys she does not have IMO at this time....
And you're basing this on what? You're extensive research into the Palin family?

do you think she magically steps out of the arena of parent and morphs into VP qualified and experinced can handle the issues we have as a culture ..
Well, apparently the Dems think Obama can do that in the Presidential role, so what's the problem?

so knock yourself out vote for Pallin your taxes are going up....and govt is gonna get more in your life....
My taxes are going up if the Republicans win? Uhhmmm... Oh yeah, that's right because McCain wants to raise corporate taxes... oh wait... That's Obama who wants to do that. (Little lesson in economics here, "hun" corporations don't pay "corporate" taxes... you do. If Wal-Mart is informed that starting tomorrow they're being charged an additional 15% in taxes, when you walk in the next day guess what? That box of cereal you were paying $1 for is now $1.15, so YOU pay the taxes Obama wants to raise)

But McCain wants to raise the death tax... no... no... that's Obama too!

But McCain wants to raise payroll taxes, right? Nope, Obama again. (Another quick lesson: If payroll taxes go up, guess what, you're the one who suffers there too. Either you'll be "downsized" since your employer can't afford to pay all those taxes, or that $1.00 an hour raise you had coming is now only going to be $0.50, cuz the rest is going to pay taxes... So, who pays the taxes.... uhmmm YOU do!)

Wait wait, that's right, McCain wants to raise taxes on investments... Oh, no... that's Obama too!

So, how exactly are my taxes going up if McCain gets elected?

No wait, Obama wants to give tax breaks to the poor.... who DON'T PAY TAXES!!! This is called redistribution of wealth. That's Socialism. It doesn't work.

Another little lesson here. If you pay more taxes you have less money to spend on groceries, clothing, entertainment, etc. If you buy less goods, the need for production capacity drops. If the need for production capacity drops, then the need for labor drops. If the need for labor drops, then people are laid off. If people get laid off, then they don't have money to buy groceries, clothing, entertainment, etc.... So, people buy less goods, production capacity drops, labor needs drop, people lose their jobs... Ah, but the government will be there to bail them out! Right? Well, the government doesn't actually make money, they get their money from taxes... but if people aren't working and don't have money to pay for their groceries, then they also don't have money to pay taxes... and so then those who still have jobs will be paying for everyone else, until they also lose their jobs.

..remember politics is the art of deception.....
That's right... so what is Obama deceiving you about?

Its a democratic turn anyways ....
We take turns!!!???? What??? You really believe this don't you! Edited by IamsSon

When the females of the world said we want a woman we meant Hilary, there were things about her i disagreed with but that did not take away form her resume that she was one hell of a mother, who has raised an amazing young lady by all standards..... she has been in politics the majority of her life she was in the white house for 8 years and holds a degree from Yale.and on and on her experince was astounding ..

:)

...You speak for the 19 million women who watched Sarah's speech last night??? You speak for all women?

Obviously not...

Please tell me that you're not one of those people who holds to the idiotic notion that because Hillary spent 8 years as first lady that she gained the requisite experience to be able to grow into the job of President!

There is nothing astounding about Hillary Clinton save her ambition...and believe me, she's not done yet! If the treatment of Sarah Palin by the media goes on unabated, Hillary will act, and by doing so, will be a major problem for Obama...because she'll speak out against it--and shatter the liberal left-wing of the Democratic party in the process, and Obama's hopes, while setting herself up as the Centrist Democratic candidate in 2012.

...there's a reason why Obama spoke out against it the other day, and has held an impromptu press conference to discuss the matter. He's well aware of the damage it can do to him (although Palin apparently can do damage to Obama just by speaking her mind)! Obama's in a hard place with this woman (Biden hasn't a chance with her...).

unfortunately Sarah Pallin at this time does not hold this sort of experience base...2 years as the major of alaska a state of 300 people ....indicates sheltered and green.. she has traveled very little in her life...

???

Experience base? The kool aid is getting stronger.

Most Mayors have more pragmatic experience in executive decision making than members of congress ever do. She happens to be the highly rated Governor (not mayor) of Alaska...and there are a few more people than 300 there....

Alaska has 700,000 people, the 6th highest wealthiest in America, the largest state in the union geographically, an energy rich resourse state...making it a major economic player.

A little known fact, apparently---Governors, and high level military commanders, and Corporate CEOs do in fact have the requisite executive decision making experience to groom them to grow into the Presidency (the Presidency is an executive management position...in case you hadn't realized that). This is why most all Presidents are NOT Senators and Congressmen, but are from the class of people like GOVERNORS...

We finally have someone with that requisite experience on the ticket this year...the only one of the 4 with that experience.

Additionally, you'd likely be surprized at the level of foreign relations that most all Governors and Lt. Governors are involved with frequently (ask one sometime...you'll be shocked).

Traveling is not a requisite. Experience in executive decision making in a position of high responsibility is. She has it....and, she has a successful record and a ridiculously high approval rating.

the one area that could speak of her isnt IMO, I'd concur with MW is she addressed her family in a practical matter i'd be willing to listen.....

Her family? What do you know about her family, other than they seem to be a healthy, close knit group of folks...husband and father, five children, wife and Mother who seems to have done exceeding well for herself and her children, while managing to be the Governor of a State, a Mayor of a city, and all the rest at the same time!

but as a mother myself and once a working mother to boot ( I owned a business) I am not into the BS, i know what it takes and I know who comes up short I know of familys with 4 and 5 kids and they home school mom stays home but if one thing goes wrong the kids get put on hold...... our children are our future need i say more.......its hard to raise one kid let alone 5 and one of them pregnant and a baby with downs syndrome...... I am gonna need to hear from this canidate how she intends to manage it... simple as that ...

Hearing how she intends to manage this country is what's important. SHE'S RUNNING FOR THE VICE-PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES, NOT FOR MOM OF THE YEAR (which she probably will win...!). Do you place such scrutiny upon male candidates, wondering how they mage to take care of their children??? Of course not. It seems rather obvious that she and her Husband, manage the family pretty darn well.

this is a public servant job and I will be asking questions..

I think that's appropriate. However, asking the right questions is also appropriate, and her personal family life is not one of those areas that is relevant...although it appears that THAT aspect of her life is rather well managed.

The fact is, Governor Palin was a home run for John McCain. And last night, she hit a grand slam herself. She does have the requisite decision making experience, unlike her opponents, she conduicts herself with articulateness, and energy, and her record of action and decisions speaks for itself...(which is true of her opponents as well, but that record is clearly less than favorable in most respects). Additionally, Sarah Palin is the epitome of the idea of feminism exemplified. And how odd is it that feminists don't like her..?!?!?!

Must be the NRA membership and those pictures of her skinning an elk!

Her engaged daughter and her pregnancy is irrelevant and is not reflective of her, or her Husband. It is reflective, however, of the mores of that family that her daughter is taking the action she is taking...

The case is closed on this...and if the left fringe doesn't stop what they're doing, I guarantee you, Hillary will make sure they do...to her advantage (never count the Clinton machine out of anything. Hillary is most assuredly not done yet).
