The lack of resources you mean those resources that are being pumped into the abortion clinics.

Hardly, you just can't throw money at children and think they'll grow up right. You still need staff and of course loving people. Both right now are still in short supply for a number of reasons.

Abortion should still be legal because it's a woman's body and I hardly think you're qualified to tell women what to do with their bodies and to hurt their health.

He isn't qualified to read posts on this forum... let alone control legal issues.

If their not having sex their not going to get pregnant. If they are having sex even with birth control they are going to get pregnant. Why because birth control can fail to work. No birth control method is 100% except not having sex. Yes it is harder to control yourself but not impossible. Thus if you are for birth control you are for abortion.

I am shaking my head in disbelief on this run. You are concluding, that if you are for birth control, you used it, and it fails, you assume that everyone makes is to have an abortion? Do you think everyone does this? What are your statistics and it's source that says this? Do you actually think that someone who has used birth control and it failed, always abort the baby?

Much better to force doctors that do not want to be part of the abortion process to be part of it.

And we can't take the staff members from the abortion clinics retrain and send them to the orphanages. That must mean that they are pretty stupid and they shouldn't reproduce at all.

No I don't Nor am I saying that anyone who uses birth control is for abortion. The ones I said are for abortion are the ones saying it is ok to have sex as long as you use birth control.

The best birth control can give you is 99% protection. This is assuming that the man uses the condom, the woman is on birth pills, sponge, and spermicides.

All abortion being available on every corner(yes I know it isn't yet) does is make responsibility non-existence.

What I don't like is that Palin seems completely unaware that political life as the VP of the United States of America will take her away from her 5 kids almost full time for the next four years should the be elected. One of her children is only 4 months old AND special needs, as well as a teen daughter in need, and a soon to be born grandchild. As a mother myself, I could not IMAGINE taking a job like VP with that many family responsibilities. Call me crazy, but I think she's doing her family and children a HUGE disservice. A grave one.

Family values my butt... anyone that chooses to take the VP job who has responsibilities and family challenges like she has is a self-centered person who cares not about family at all.

That doesn't change the fact you outright lied about Messiah arguing for abortions when he/she was arguing for contraception, and have been spinning like mad to slip away from that.

In any case, assuming that Bristol Palin is a chip off the old block, then she probably did not use birth control pills, seeing as how her mother apparently opposes birth control in the form of both birth control pills and condoms.

Reread what I wrote. Those pushing/are for birth control are for abortion.

You do not have to push birth control to use it. You don't even have to be for birth control to use it. These days with aids it is smart to use condons if you don't know who your with.

Just like Obama's mother. She had sex before marriage, got knocked up before marriage and then got hitched roughly a few months into her pregnancy.

It's not so much that she is pregnant as is the hypocrisy of the so called republican claim to being the party of 'Christian family values' while demonizing the left for the same thing.

I found this interesting however - this is the baby's daddy remarks

On his MySpace page, Johnston boasts, "I'm a f - - -in' redneck" who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes.

"But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s- - - and just f - - -in' chillin' I guess."

"Ya f - - - with me I'll kick [your] a**," he added.

He also claims to be "in a relationship," but states, "I don't want kids."

Palin has ties to the Oil industry and wants to drill in ANWR.

Pay attention to Policy. If we voted based on policy and not on all the other bull, we might have better leaders.

That her daughter is pregnant is only an issue if you are easily distracted by shiny things.

Well they didn't try to hide it. It was a very well known 'secret' in their hometown.

Though the hypocrisy is there:

McCain fought money on teen pregnancy programs (link)

Republican John McCain, whose running mate disclosed that her unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, has opposed proposals to spend federal money on teen-pregnancy prevention programs and voted to require poor teen mothers to stay in school or lose their benefits.

Palin herself said she opposes funding sexual-education programs in Alaska.

"The explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support," she wrote in a 2006 questionnaire distributed among gubernatorial candidates.

Actually the left has gone very religious, it's of big concern to a lot of people.

Atheists: The Last Political Outcasts

Bob Tiernan is an agnostic. "I'm not a hard-core atheist", he says. He was raised a Catholic and went to Jesuit College and law school. He is a practicing lawyer who specializes in issues involving separation of church and state. He is also a Democrat. This week he was in Denver to protest what he sees as the dangerous mixing of religion and politics, and the sad exlusion of non-believers in a party known for its inclusiveness.

On Sunday, Tiernan attended the first event at the Democratic National Convention, an Interfaith Gathering attended by some 2,000 people at the Colorado Convention Center. Speaking were distinguished priests, rabbis, imams and religion scholars. "I sat through, I guess I'd have to call it, a service," says Tiernan. "People were responding in unison. In the middle, Leah Daughtry (a pastor and CEO of the Democratic National Convention Committee) spoke and said that despite what the media says, Democrats are people of faith."

Tiernan says he couldn't stand it any more. "I stood up and said, 'I'm a democrat but I'm not a person of faith.' I said, 'This looks like a church service to me and I never thought I would see the Democrats doing something like this." At that point, the police came and escorted Tiernan from the hall. They told him he could leave or stay and see what the Democrats wanted to do with him, so he stayed but nobody did anything so he left.

"The thing is," says Tiernan with a chuckle, "I'm not a career protester. I just don't like religion mixed with politics. It's wrong and it's dangerous."

------------------------------------

How many times just this year have we heard dems speak about god and faith? More then I can count that's for sure.

One more time for the people who don't understand. The area of anwr where they want to drill was sit aside for drilling. The first pipeline did not upset the caribou population it increased it giving the polar bear more food to eat. But the claim for that pipeline was the same for this one it will kill caribou and thus polar bears. I say same claim same results. So if you want more polar bears push for the pipeline.,

Obama has convinced me he is a very decent man with his response to this whole thing.

I don't support him politically, but he appears to be a very decent man.

It does appear, however, that a lot of his supporters are trying to shoehorn this Palin-daughter-pregnancy into being a big big issue and scandal; but what they really need is something more like Palin or her daughter having secretly had an ABORTION.

THAT would be a huge hypocrisy-scandal.

THis just is not it.

I'll have to check this out.Jeez, what a real weiner of a dad. just gage me. Had to laugh when i read this in today's San Antonio Express News.

Palin decided to expose this before the media got a wiff of this. Our parents taught us about sex and such.I never ran around, wanted to be a nun,but my mother and later my dad's ill health put that by the wayside. But my sister and brother had boy friends and girl friends. And guess what, no nieces or nephews. My brother and his wife of 12 years want to have a kid, but right now they are busy with his computer business and she also works, so that's on hold for awhile. Same with my sister and her fiance.been together many years, but both are career people so until things slow down,no kids.
