ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain have agreed to three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate, the two campaigns said Thursday.

The three, 90-minute debates are sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates, based in Arlington, Va.

The first presidential debate will be Sept. 26 at the University of Mississippi in Oxford on the topics of foreign policy and national security.

The lone debate between vice presidential candidates will be Oct. 2 at Washington University in St. Louis.

The second presidential debate is scheduled for Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville. It will be a town hall debate format.

The final meeting between the two major-party presidential nominees is Oct. 15 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., focusing on domestic and economic policy.

The debate between vice presidential candidates on second of October should be very interesting.

How do you think Biden and Palin will fare against each other?

I think Obama and McCain will fare well against each other without any big blunders. Palin will eat Biden alive because he will be afraid to attack her. Hence why the republicans have been playing up the sexism for a reason.

Assuming Biden actually brings his cojones to the VP debate (he's been speaking rather weakly as of late), then he'll browbeat Palin. He'll actually be able to give real answers about most of the questions asked, without having to go into repeat-mode when a question is phrased unusually or is unexpected.

Obama and McCain is another matter. Obama will probably come off as slightly cold and verbose (he always seems to during debates), while McCain will, at some point, mention his "$3 million to study the DNA of bears" story.

I think Obama is the best public speaker but I don't think he debates well.
The question that intrigues me is -- how will the American citizens respond?
