The Silver Thong Posted October 22, 2008 #177 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Funny, I thought everyone outside the US was at least one of those, if not all, in the minds of Bush and Palin. Can you name somewhere that isn't? "Liberals, socialist, communist and terrorist are not the rest of the world." These are all Aroce's special goggles allow him to see. For some reason I bet Aroce's score card reads like this. Aroces 99-100% right Rest of the planet 99-100% wrong Aroces actually thinks that because Macdonalds and KFC's are all over the planet that the countrys that have these restaraunts must be in love with America LOL Coke is sold in every country on the planet so yaaaa the world love's America, how silly is that. SRCivic98 Posted October 22, 2008 #178 Share Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) Iraq war vs WWII sorry not making the connection. Two totaly different senarios that really have no comparison. IMO Oh now I have to know, which person made that connection? WWII and Iraq are WAY, WAY, WAY! Different from each other. Plus I don't talk disrespectful about the troops back then. No offense to the men and women of today but those guys back in WWII made our troops today look weak. This is in due part of how they were trained and raised back then too. Our men and women today go through and yeah they get yelled at and what not. But did they ever had a drill instructor run their heads into walls and have live rounds fired at them during training? Plus the D.I. was the biggest and baddest SOB that you would have ever met. There's just so much difference in the past and in today's military that I don't know where to begin. But yeah, Iraq and WWII have no connection what so ever unless you know something that none of us here know. Like WWIII being made up in the works? ravergirl Posted October 22, 2008 #179 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Sorry I guess you didn't see the exerts from the movie about the 9/11 attack. And I guess you don't know that something like that takes years to plan not months. Clinton is also the one that made sure that the fbi and the cia could not talk to each other. I'm aware that It would take a long time to plan something like that. You are bent if you think that it was planned by our government. That is a fundamentally un-american un-patriotic thing to do and if the reality is that they would risk the people (the americans) overthrowing our government entirely. you can wrap up in your conspiracy theory but we have the civil right to form a militia and if our goverment gets caught pulling stunts like that "We the People" will eliminate that threat. SRCivic98 Posted October 22, 2008 #180 Share Posted October 22, 2008 And I'm sure you have watched Fox News and see the daily guest from both side allowing them to make their case. And that is what you don't like, you prefer more than one news source but are basically all bias to the left. YES, I travel yearly, and I see Mcdonald, KFC and Starbucks everywhere. So don't give us that crap about America. How you could say something like that? with a country as great as this one? we lead to the way for so many and yet so many others hate us for that. Sure we might not be doing that great right now but that doesn't mean that we won't in the future. If you don't like America then you've got two options which is what my DI always told me, Either keep your mouth shut and enjoy the rights and freedoms that you've got here or you can pack your bags and leave and not look back. I love this nation and I'll do anything to make sure that those stars and stripes stays up there flying high. Who cares what's on the news or what's not on the news. All that matters is that we don't wake up under a dictorship and get told by someone else that if we're good at a certain skill set then that's what we're going to be until we die. No! We have a choice here to be who we want to be, do what we wish to do with certain rules and laws which might not always be fair or right all the time but they're there to protect us. For so as long as there's people out there that believe this and will stand up for what they know is right and is for the good of the justice and law, then this country will be on top and we will always lead the way to better ways of understanding our world and passing on our teachings to others. God Bless America and god bless every Amercian.

It's rather simple and you used the answer in one of your own posts by useing Mcdonalds and KFC as to why people like America. It called money dude, and it makes the world go round. You think they come to America for the free hugs and kiss's and this just doesn't include America. We can say they come here to be free of oppression, better health better this better that is all boils down to money. Not popularity contests. And what you are not saying is that emigration, if you exclude people from Latin American origin is on the decline... in some countries The US has to make active recruiting to get the quotas filled. Really??? In the decline? Well that is good, I would say then out sourcing works. Now the people in other countries need not leave their country for jobs. By the way, that quota been way down since 9/11. Edited October 22, 2008 by AROCES

It has been down for longer than that if we disregard a spike in 1990 (no idea what brought that about...) The problem is that outsourcing is not working, most of those who emigrate are more or less skilled workers while the intelligentsia (i.e. College professors, researchers, which made a big proportion before are not coming anymore), I consider that way more worrying. Good let me rephrase... the quotas for people of European descend have not been reached in the last ten years...happy now? The information can also be downloaded at the dept. of homeland security site above. The fact that they actively advertise for "recruits" makes me suppose that they want to get those people. BTW, it is not only on the internet, in front of me I have Fridays copy of the Frankfurter Allgemeine and it also has this "live and work" advert in it. BTW, it is not only on the internet, in front of me I have Fridays copy of the Frankfurter Allgemeine and it also has this "live and work" advert in it. Thanks for the link. From the source: "The annual LPR (legal permanent resident) flow has exhibited an upward trend since World War II (see Figure 1). The annual average LPR flow quadrupled from 250,000 during the 1950s to just over one million during 2000 to 2007. Changes in immigration law associated with this increase include the elimination of country quotas controlling Eastern Hemisphere immigration, increases in annual limits for hemispheric and preference immigration and the inclusion of parents of adult U.S. citizens as numerically exempt immediate relatives. The spike in legal immigration around 1990 reflects the legalization of 2.7 million undocumented immigrants under the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986." As someone mentioned, the quota is on the upper level, and not a minimum requirement. Edit: "it also has this "live and work" advert in it" Is the advert an official US government advert, or some private service?
