The anti-semetism on this forum is outstanding.

To be honest I don't think anyone would be complaining if they were fighting fairly and just firing rockets at each other but because one side has thrown its military might at the other and innocents are unfortunately being caught up in it, then all of a sudden its a horrible outrage.

The people should have tried something and tried to boot out Hamas and things might have been a little better for them, but to let Hamas cause trouble they have doomed themselves to a huge spanking.

Edit to add:

i'll bet your addicted to video games too.

Hey lets not go down that road and bring video games into it :P

Give this person a round of applause. Israel was a mistake and should never have been created. Good luck to Hamas fighting off the genocidal forces of Israel.

How many more Palestinian civilians will Israel kill and claim they were 'militants?'

This is an idiotic post. Sorry, but it is and it does smack of anti semetism.

Yes actually it was.

Bit of sarcasm really. I honestly do think that there are some people who would not complain if they were just firing rockets at each other, but because one has had enough and gone all out now people are rallying up and saying how unfair and evil the one side is for using its military might to wipe out a threat and poor innocents are getting hurt by it.

Anti-semitism???????

Are we dealing with protected animals??? Everytime someone says Israel is wrong someone pulls the Anti-Semitism card. Stop the **EDIT**.

Palestinians and the Arabsa were not the ones who gassed the Jews. They did not kicked them out of Europe. They did not refuse refuge to the Jews when they were killed of in Europe by the Spanish, Germans, English....

Yet this is the thanks for at least treating them as human beeings when the Jews followed arabs and muslims because they were the only ones who treated them rihght.

Anati-Semitism. Stop with that **EDIT** and take your head out of your **EDIT**.

What Israel is doing is a crime against humanity. They are no better then Hitler and his nacis.

It's funny how nobody mentions Hamas who are constantly blaming Israel. It's blatant igorance of the facts to not blame Hamas who apart of their official statements include the distruction of the Jewish people. How can ignore that?

Also, where were all of you over the past 4 years when rockets were constantly landing in Israel? So your method is to ignore what Hamas is doing over 4 years, and then when Israel finally decides to do something NOW you cry out and blame Israel for killing innocent civilians. Where the hell were you when Hamas brainwash young boys to wear a suicide vest and get onto a bus and kill men women and children? The way some of you are speaking is totally hypocritical. "Oh but Hamas has a right to do that because those are the only weapons they have". Thats bull, and for Israel to just send a few small rockets back to "Even up the fight" is sheer stupidity. The war would never end if they did that. Oh and there are many Israeli citizens who are fed up with Hamas and agree with going into Gaza.

Without mentioning Anti-Semitism i could say just as easily:

"The Palestinians were resettled for Israel, as Israel is not omnipotent it cannot form itself, it was done so by the United Nations after World War 2. However, large numbers of Jews had already been living in the region with vast immigration of Jewish groups returning from Europe which had been happening since the early 1900's, the Jews did not suddenly "appear" in the region kick the Palestinians out onto the streets and occupy their houses as most people insinuate. 80% of the Arab population of the region had already left as a result of the arab-israeli war of 1948-49.

Today's Conflict is against Hamas not the Palestinian people, yes there are civilian casualties, however Hamas has been indiscriminately firing ballistic rockets into Israel for months despite warnings that exactly THIS sort of intervention would happen. Almost all the Israeli victims of Hamas rockets were civilians, almost all of the Palestinian casualties in these two weeks of conflict have been Hamas officials and militants. The only difference is Israel has the capacity to actively defend itself which Hamas has not. People say Israel are the terrorists, why ? because an air strike indiscriminately kills innocent children...who are forced to stay in the same room as a militant who fires a rocket at Israel...which is spotted by an Israeli plane...which fires at the location to prevent more attacks...???? Hamas officials and millitants surround themselves with children and women and innocent men whilst they fire rockets. Perhaps Hamas should have focused more on improving medical, educational and public services instead of whittling away what money they had on illegal arms and armaments bought into the country through tunnels."

Palestinians and the Arabsa were not the ones who gassed the Jews.

They helped, Amin Al Husseini (Great uncle of yasser arafat) leader of Nazi Muslim Troops -Hanzar SS Division, Hitler's own, returned to Palestine (still the Grand Mufti) with a muslim ideology that no jew should be allowed to settle in Islam, this ideology is still alive and kicking.

1929 Amin Al-Husseini organizes more riots in Palestine. He spreads false rumors to further turn the local Muslims against the Jews. Random murdering of Hebron Jews begins. Hebron Jewish community was over 2,000 years old.

1937 Amin Al-Husseini visits Jerusalem German Consul. He meets SS Hauptschanfuehrer A.Eichman and SS Oberscherfuehrer H. Hagen to discuss “the Jewish question”. Amin Al-Husseini subsequently receives financial and military aid from Nazi Germany.

There'll never be peace without it being forced upon muslims who have this ideology, the loss of life means nothing to them, it's used to gain support from the left and the stupid.

Wel Hamas have an excuse for firing their rockets now. Yep that tactic of firing 6000 rockets at israeli civilians 'in defence of the people of Gaza' sure worked out. Its like they will only be happy when they are occupied again so they have an occupation to fight against. Bet they are loving this in Tehran.

Israel in Gaza: Right but Not Smart

Friday 02 January 2009

by: Rabbi Michael Lerner, Religion Dispatches

A Palestinian man peers out a window of a bombed-out building. (Photo: AP)

Israel is still using a strategy of domination in its struggle with Hamas, trying to use force to gain security. But this is a recipe for endless war.

Israel's attempt to wipe out Hamas is understandable, but dumb. No country in the world is going to ignore the provocation of rockets being launched from neighboring territory day after day. If Mexico had a group of anti-imperialist South Americans bombing Texas, imagine how long it would take for the U.S. to mobilize a counter-attack. Israel has every right to respond.

But the kind of response matters.

Massive bombings of the sort that have thus far killed over 400 Palestinians and wounded 1,000 other civilians is a classic example of a disproportionate response.

Before Israel's massive bombing, the Hamas bombings that began when the previous cease fire ran out had not (thank God) killed any one. The reason is obvious: Hamas has no airplanes, no tanks, nothing more than the weapons of the powerless- mortars that fire to limited range and with limited accuracy. Hamas can harass, but it cannot pose any threat to the existence of Israel. And just as Hamas' indiscriminate bombing of population centers is a crime against humanity, so is Israel's massive attack against civilians (at least 250 killed so far in Gaza, not to mention the thousands killed by Israel in the years of the Occupation of the West Bank and Gaza).

Hamas had respected the previously negotiated cease fire except when Israel used the cease fire as cover to make assassination raids against Hamas and other Palestinian leaders. Hamas argued that these raids were hardly a manifestation of cease fire, and so as symbolic protest Hamas would then allow the release of rocket fire (usually hitting no targets). But when the issue of continuing the cease fire came up, Hamas wanted a guarantee that these assassination raids would stop. And it asked for more. With hundreds of thousands of Palestinians facing acute malnutrition bordering on starvation, Hamas insists that the borders be opened so that food can arrive to Gaza unimpeded by Israeli attempts to starve the Gazans into submission. And in return for the captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, it asks for the release of a thousand Palestinians imprisoned in Israel.

Hamas has made it clear that it would accept the terms of the Saudi Arabian peace agreement, though it would never formally recognize Israel. It would live peacefully in a two-state arrangement, but it would never acknowledge Israel's "right to exist." This position is unnecessarily provocative, and represents deep self- destructiveness on the part of Palestinians who believe that this failure to acknowledge Israel's rights is the only symbolic weapon they have left. To many Israelis, trapped in their own history as survivors of genocide and oppression, Hamas' refusal to give official recognition is a way of saying, "We'll wait till we have adequate military power, and then we'll break any defacto truce and cease fire and use that power to wipe out Israel, so just give us time."

How do we get out of these dynamics that lead to the current situation in which a small number of Israelis and a huge number of Palestinians are killed or maimed?

http://www.truthout.org/010209R

Israel has taken it from the pan into the fire. Who does it think is going to back it with the US in Iraq and Afghanistan ? not to mention in hock up to our eyeballs and financial turmoil ? Bad stupid move.

Israel is not a country, nor a recognized State.

It was a huge mistake.

Excuse me, Israel is not a country and on May 14th, 1948, they were not allowed to be called Israel again?

Yes, that is true. Some muslims ( arabs and european ) colaborated with Hitler. So did Italy, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Croatia ( by the way did you know that the first Jew-free City in Europe during WWII was Belgrade? Those Jews run to Albanian and Bosnian muslims seekeng refuge although some of those muslims later colaborated with Hitler too but Jews were still much safer in those countries among muslims then elswhere??).... while other countries like USA and England watched??

So because of a group, again, we justifie a total war against a nation??

White men and their justice system. Witchunt is still alive.
