Reports of a mermaid in San Jose, while turning out to be fake have nonetheless attracted flocks of people to the marine laboratory at Stillman University in the hope of catching a glimpse of it.

"Reports that a mermaid had been found in San Jose, Negros Oriental turned out to be false but this did not stop people from flocking to the marine laboratory of Silliman University hoping to get a glimpse of the mythical creature. Over the past three days, hordes of men, women and children in Dumaguete and nearby areas flocked to the marine laboratory, now called the Silliman University Institute of Environmental and Marine Sciences, after reports of the mermaid became widespread."

Dumb hoaxes like this is what makes people not take the idea of supernatural phenominon seriously. People don't know what to believe and don't want to be made a fool of so they disbelieve everything.

It's a hoax?

I am so surprised I think I might have a heart attack of not-surprise.
