loganXman Posted April 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2004 dont laugh, but in this months issue(april) of Maxim, there is an article about an asteriod hitting earth. it reads as followed: "The good news? An asteriod the size of SL-61-7 only hits our planet once every 10 million years. The bad news? Scientists give it a 63.8 % chance of colliding with Earth on September 27 this year. So how bad's it gonna sting?" Then they have illustration of impact and what will happen detail after one month. Does anyone know if this is true or not? and is there really a 63.8% chance it will hit Earth?
Magikman Posted April 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2004 The issue you mention was an April Fool's prank. THIS is the best source for the information. Magikman

Morpheus Posted April 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Sounds like an April fools prank in poor taste to me, on top of all the turmoil in the middle east theres nothing like an Extinction Level Event to send you out the window of a highrise.
