"Is their a real god-s in existence" "Is there really someone that we can pray to and worship"

These questions have been asked for hundreds of years, and has spread world wide.

A START OFF

From the early morning of the world, until very recent times, the best energies of mankind have been wasted in the worship of gods. All these gods have been naturally produced. They originated in the minds of men who, by their invention, sought to account for the facts of nature. The poor savage found himself surrounded by phenomena he did not understand. Knowing nothing of natural law and order, ignorant of the relation of cause and effect, his simple mind was terrified and amazed by the things that he observed. The plaintive moan of the wailing wind, the thunder's awful roar, the lightning's blinding flash, the devastating flood, the lingering disease that tortured and deformed, and death that stilled the voices of the ones he loved, convinced him of the presence of evil powers that worked to bring about his ruin.

So do you believe that our essence is somehow contained within the energy being trasmitted to us from the Sun? I'm actually curious whether or not you have a full set of beliefs built around the Sun or if saying that the Sun is God is just something that you do for kicks.

Im not sure how one can respond to the OP without being critical or by suggesting another person is wrong. If god is real, those who dont believe he is are wrong. if god is a construct of the human psyche those who believe he is a real entity are wrong . Because belief influence our entire world view our actions eventually flow from the beliefs. Thus people will be divided and they will do things the others see as pointless or destructive.

I know that there is a real entity humans commonly call god. Im not going to call a disbeliever names. but i will tell them "you are wrong to disbelieve. I can understand how and why you have chosen to disbelieve but simply you are wrong." I will go further and acknowledge that humans have named this entity god(what it really is i dont know)

Further still i will acknowledge that the physical nature of this entity , combined with the physical nature of man makes the relationship betwen the two generally a personal one, not easily verifiable by scientific rules or proofs.(but this does not mean its existence, if not its nature is not demonstrable thorugh physical evidence and scientific evidence at a personal level)

An example. Two people see a bright pillar of light manifest before them. One person hears a voice from this pillar of light say. I am going to cure your cancer. That person goes to his specialist and finds out that his cancer has disappeared. (The doctor says these things sometimes just happen. we cant explain it. youre a lucky fellow)

Ok so the light was an objective and fairly inexplicable event. The cancer had been verified and its disappearence was verifiable. But the interaction which occured between the two sapient beings/consciousnesse sin the interval between these events, is not verifiable to any one else. Does this mean that person should not accept what happened as real.?

What is he to make of such an event? Throughout history, to the present time this sort of thing happens to people. MY rational and logical deduction is that when this level of interaction occurs (rather than what might be a delusion or hallucination) it should be accepted as we would any other real interaction on a physical level in our world. Ie it has a (currently unknown)logical cuase and effect, involving some form of independent and powerful sapient force.

However, the 90% plus of people who never have such an experience will understandbly chose not to believe, and thus must create different possible expantions from within belief sets which are acceptable to them.

ALso humans do construct many gods and variants of gods, not only from the most basic human needs but also historically because they had to use the very limited scientific /empirical knowledge available to them to expalin a complex world. Fact didnt provide all the answers, so people extrapolated from knowledge which existed within them. They knew them selves and so they often attributed human motivations , characters and almost natures to the physical forces at work around them.

I considered that this might be what i am doing and almost certainly there is an element of truth in this, but the externally verifiable indicators of a sapient powerful being are both objectively real and independently verifiable, even if i am left to attribute purpose motivation etc.

I think it's just for the kicks, if it actually is a belief he can explain I'll be gobsmacked.

As for the question about god's existence, I guess it will keep getting asked until God shows himself.

Some people need more than the bible and faith...which is fair enough I think...

Roflmao I knew this would happen some day. I was born many decades before the internet. and this amuses me in a way you might not understand.

That was all me. my accumulated 57 years of life and experience are the basis for it, and my well honed brain wrote it, lol. Sorry if that makes it any less acceptable. (to me it is a lot more reliable than much of what appears on the web.)

The particular case with the cancer /being of light is drawn from many experiences. Two relate specifically. My own, already told many times, where an "angel" appeared and did exactly as described here, but in my case cured me of nicotine addiction; and a friend who had an almost identical experience with cancer. Many other people, once they know i am non judgemental, have told me similar variations on the same story, but i cannot vouch for them, as i can for my own.

Paranormalcy

Awesome.

I more or less believe "God" is sort of the flow of the Universe, and IS the Universe, as in Time, and everything else - all of existence, including the idea OF existence. And I think it can be a God that persons can have a "personal" relationship in some cases, or probably in all cases if one were fortunate or knowledgeable enough to know the ins and outs.

I will just say within this thread that religion is a cultural universal. That means every culture that we know about has had a belief in religion. Not necessarily a monotheist view but a view nonetheless. This of course is not proof but if you are a believer then you are among good company as a human being.

Yes, you are solar powered. A hybrid one. For beliefs, the Sun is Father God. Mother God Earth.

Will those who worship the Sun ever have an advantage to truly become solar powered and evolve to survive only on photosynthesis?

How does that work exactly? So if you were to stop going in the sun altogether, what would happen? I mean I realize this planet needs the sun, but seriously, could you elaborate a bit?

You do your thing with the Sun above you. You'll malfunction, becomes weak and pale if you sleep at day and do your thing in the dark without your entire body seeing any light.

Unless of course you're an albino, or have lupus etc... then the sun'll kill you... what a kind over lord... Of course you can join us in reality and realize the sun is just that... the sun.

Yes, you are right, Madame; the sky is blue, the sun is shining, and yet you forget that everywhere there is evil under the sun.

I prefer the night and like being pale. So I guess I'll just take karlis's advise and take vitamin D supplements.

But do they cure rickets as well? I hate to admit it, but the alien among us does have a point Human eveolution has occured in response to a certain solar cycle and we are all, in a way, creatures of the sun. And the sun was probably the first object of worship by all evolveing sapient humans MAybe i'll have to think about converting from worship of the son to worship of the sun. Any chance of getting a franchise deal ?
