A new battery powered exoskeleton has been developed by Lockheed Martin for US soldiers that will allow a person to carry up to 200 pounds while feeling a weight gain of up to only 10 pounds.

"Stronger, faster and harder is the promise of a new exoskeleton developed by Lockheed Martin for U.S. soldiers. Dubbed the Human Universal Load Carrier, or HULC, the device helps a soldier carry up to 200 pounds at a top speed of 10 mph."

Amazing technology. Unfortunately with the primary purpose to serve the military.

I can already smell the latest reality show using these exoskeletons to enhance gladiatorial combat. American Gladiators on steroids ... and with exoskeletons.

Hmmmm, Iron Man????

I was thinking SPARTAN-II :D

Shame it is only for military use, though. I could definitely go for some of that, considering how physically weak I am at the moment :(

If I were to get some, I would definitely mod it to look more Sci-Fi-ish. If anyone were to laugh at me, I would own them ;)

If someone were so inclined who had the money and brains they could make such a thing in their garage shop. Albeit you woud have to be pretty damn good to make it state of the art, so the millitary will always be one step ahead.

It is not unfortunate if it allows less people to have to serve and it makes our soldiers safer and more efficient.

Now they need to work on the Macross Cyclone.

lol, imagine being able to jump 10 feet in the air with that. And if there is someone you don't like, you do a terminator style choke hold, with one arm. Then toss them into the air.... without any effort at all.

Yea totally!.. Maybe they'll make nanosuits in future...

Running like a horse, camouflaging like a chameleon and effortlessly beating the **** out of unlucky punks, Hell YEAH BABY!!!
