I assume that's smell like "secret weapon" if someday it happen I'd like to be the first human to invent that CRAZY SON OF A GUN super weapon so in the end the world is no longer suffer from war until only few country left standing to declare a new world with no boundary hicks....is there a place to store my madness arround here because if the world at peace as it is today 2009 it will be no hope for the brilliant thinker to do some new outstanding invention, new brilliant technology so who the hell is the maniac to start a big war first? before we are being invade by another world or creature and earth can do nothing to even strike back

Is there any way to harness some of the energy of a lightning bolt? Perhaps by charging a huge bank of supercapacitors and then feeding that juice into the grid more slowly?

If so, it might be possible to channel some of the energy for human use. Not only would we be reducing the threat of lightning harming us, we could get significant energy out of it.

If you had supercapacitors that could handle the voltage of a lightning bolt, yes. That would work quite nicely.
