Asteroids won't raise killer waves

The risk of an asteroid hitting the oceans and producing a massive tidal wave have been reduced substantially following new simulations which suggest that small asteroids do not pose a significant tsunami threat.

"The odds of encountering a tsunami kicked up by an asteroid strike have just plummeted. Best to hope, though, that you're not underneath the almighty splash such an impact could create."

I don't know, looking at what nature is capable of doing in terms of damage, I wouldn't dismiss the real situation from a simulated conclusion just yet.

Since we aren't going to weaponize space, even for planetary defense, what differance does such an impact make anyway? The human haters and the politically wussy will have us extinct as soon as possible. While we may be smart enough to survive, being led by the logically challenged proves we deserve to be wiped from the universe. What a shame.
