wolemrock 0 #3 Posted July 8, 2009 ancient people worships nature, and one visible and powerful form is the sun, these disc formation of stones (which i think depicts the sun) are constructed in honor of their diety, great and ancient civilizations are sun worshippers, egyptians, greeks, and even romans (the halo of angels, and saints is actually a derivation from the sun disc which the pagans worshipped).
