Recommended Posts

Karlis
The oldest known human hair belonged to a 9,000-year-old mummy disinterred from an ancient Chilean cemetery.~~ Until now. ~~ A recent discovery pushes the record back some 200,000 years.

Hyena dung?!....well, I guess that answers the age old question, "Whatever happened to Adam?"

The opening statement on the main page:

The oldest known human hairs have been discovered inside the fossil of ancient hyena dung unearthed in a Chilean cemetery, pushing the record back some 200,000 years.

is incorrect.

The statement implies that humans populated Chile 200,000 YBP.

The hairs were found in South Africa - home sweet home for us all.

That's quite a death, you know, being laughed at when you're being chewed up too.
