That's something I'm having a hard time understanding too, personally that is. I guess people can just be so different. I don't even see these guys in my daily life but I know they exist by the thousands probably, just here in Helsinki. Lonely guys who just cannot bring themselves to actually approach a female. Or even learn to know how to approach them. I guess this is one of those topics that one could ramble about for hours without really getting anywhere.

Too good! LOL! Here's a better idea though. Go to one of those free online dating sites and key in the country of your interest. If you statr sending emails to them, you'll meet hundreds in no time. Same deportation rules apply too! Even better, you can go for Russians, Chinese whatever! No luck there? Try the Philipines. For real! PM me for the web addresses. Not giving out free ad space for other sites on the boards but, there is one that is slap full of girls looking to get a trip to North America.

Of course, the down side is that as soon as they get here and find out that the streets AREN'T paved with gold, you might have to find yourself a new one. In all likelihood, you'll probably have to replace your foriegn bride every year or so but, HEY! That's half the fun anyway! LOL!

As for me, I'm sticking to the home bred variety. Already speak the language and most my age have already been married too so, they don't still have all those Disney dreams of Fairy Princes and happy ever after delusions.... Yeah, I'm such a romantic! LOL!

I think these mail order brides are for folks with more money than they have sense. It's almost like legally buying a slave.

I was terrified by this article. I think it tests public reaction in view of the possible partition of Ukraine by Russia, as Odessa is of course an Ukrainian city. It exists for 250 years and was always the Imperial capital of the crooks, thieves, smugglers and swindlers, even Moscow could not compete; also it is famous for its humour as 1/3 of the citizens were Jews, I think late Golda Meir was also born there, Israeli PM. Gullibility of English grooms does not surprise me, same as the sneaky and ruthless style of Russian and specially Ukrainian brides. There are probably good honest girls there, but it is hard to meet them through these agents... I was thinking the same thing, do they honestly think these women are after them for true love? Maybe they don't care their being used to get them out of their country/difficult lives. You know men, if it looks good they want it even if it's bad for them.

Actually, I'm leaning towards feeling kinda sorry for some of the girls, I mean, I've SEEN the guy's that go on these group trips and 'potential mass murderer' crossed my mind more than a few times, along with parental-basement-dweller-who-finally-got-kicked-out, among other things. I guess there's negatives with both parties, girls wanting to 'marry a rich American', just get the heck outta Dodge to America and the dregs of Male society skulking Europe or Asia for a woman!
