A firm in Latvia is offering loans of an equivalent of $100-$1000 to residents and requires only the borrower's immortal soul as security. They have up to 90 days to repay the loan otherwise the firm will take full possession of it.

"A financial company in Latvia is offering residents loans secured by nothing but their immortal soul. Riga-based firm, named Kontora, does not require credit history record or proof of employment."

I imagine that not repaying this loan based on your word alone could result in two broken legs. For a thousand bucks not a chance, keep the money lol

I knew a fellow who refused to pay his exorcist.

He ended up being re-possessed

We would need an atheist to try it out. Heck, they have nothing to lose it seems.

How strange! Did they invent a way to harm souls? Or do they simply have too much money? Or is it a way to test Latvians' spirituality..? :P

I'm not religious in the least, but no in HELL would I ever "loan" my soul out. Even if it doesn't exist, I wouldn't do it for the fact that no one, God or otherwise, but me will ever have rights to it.

...And if you don't pay up, do they (like) come to your house with their high priest to extract your soul? What the ****!? I can see it now...

In the current economic climate, I doubt they can be choosy!

How do they track the purchase? One might have already sold the soul. They need a soul database. Ohh wait.....
