EINSTEIN’S RIDDLE

EINSTEIN’S RIDDLE

This is solvable……..I swear

1. There are 5 houses in 5 different colours. In each house lives a person with a different nationality.

2. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet.

3. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar or drink the same beverage.

The question is “Who owns the fish?’

Facts:

The Brit lives in the red house

The Swede keeps dogs as pets.

The Dane drinks tea.

The green house is on the left of the white house.

The green house’s owner drinks coffee.

The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.

The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.

The man living in the center house drinks milk.

The Norwegian lives in the first house.

The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.

The man who keeps the horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.

The owner who smokes Bluemasters drinks beer.

The German smokes Prince.

The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

The man who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water.

Einstein wrote this riddle this century. He said 98% of the world could not solve it.

It can be done! Be part of the 2% that COULD.

Yellow Blue Red Green White House

___________________________________________ Nationality

___________________________________________ Beverage

___________________________________________ Cigar

___________________________________________ Pet

You will have to print this out and use paper to work it out. Draw a table similar to the one above but add in the lines. House should be on top of nationality by the way.

The Norwegian lives in theyellow house in position number 1 he drinks water , he smokes Dunhill and keeps cats.

The Dane lives in the blue house drinks tea , smokes blends and keeps a horse .

The brit lives in the red house drinks milk , smokes Pall Mall and keeps Birds.

Now either the german or the swede could live in the final houses so Ill just do it this way .

The swede lives in the green house , drinks beer , smokes bluemaster and keeps dogs.

Which leaves the German who lives in the white hous drinks coffee , smokes prince , and has the only unclaimed pet the FISH .

I tried to type the table in originally but it got all jumbled once i submited it. So am I right ?

Mr-X,

Nice find - certainly got me thinking.

Kismit, I ended up with the same result as you so I think it must be right.

Either that or we've both made exactly the same mistakes. :s03

Yup that's what I got .

I don't think you really have to be in the top 2%. After all last time I was tested I was only in the top 3% ;)
