ASBO for 14-year-old girl who drank 12 cans of lager EVERY NIGHT

A binge drinker, aged 14, has been given an Asbo banning her from drinking alcohol in public.

Schoolgirl Catherine Emery has been arrested more than 20 times for drunken behaviour, which saw her drink up to 12 cans of lager such as Carling and Stella Artois each night.

Catherine was the leader of a girl gang who teamed up with friends for drinking sessions most nights, meeting in supermarket car parks to drink cans of lager.

were are the parents? she is only fourteen , this must constitute child abuse.

in my Britain people like her and her family would be moved onto one of our outer islands were they'd then live in a modified shipping container. along with other problem families. and these "homes" containers will have the bare essentials. water will be provided from a well. electricity will be cut off at midnight, and there will be no such thing has playstations or internet connection.

Once they adjust their behaviour they can then be welcomed back into society.

I completely disagree. By the time I was 15 I wasn't ever going to school and was drinking or taking drugs every day. I come from a great, loving family, and it was no fault of my parents. My Mother was at her wits end. How do you control a teenager that will not be controlled? You can't.

She needs to be taken away from her parents for her own good.

I've never been in trouble with the police. Tell me how you control a teenager that won't be controlled. How do you make someone do, or not do something?

Why was my family a problem family? I said, I come from a decent hardworking family, I was never in trouble with the police, and never harmed anyone. I wasn't an ASBO kid. All the problems my actions caused affected only me, and my very upset, worried and hurt family. I suffered from depression, paranoia and had hallucinations. I self harmed reguarly, wouldn't go home for days, sometimes weeks at a time. My parents had no idea where I was, or what I was doing, and how could they unless I told them?

So, when you tell your child they are grounded, and they walk out of the house and don't come back for 5 days, what do you do? Lock them up? Physically fight them?

Drinking that much at 14, no worries she'll be on dialysis at 18 & no longer a problem at 20.

Job done Keith. :tu:

Faraway. the answer to your last post, in your case you'd be sent to the Island. leaving your family behind that way your parents would defiantly know where you are. and once you'd come to your senses and composed yourself then you'd return home. fresh, revitalised and ready to play your part in society.

on the NEWS last week a lad aged 22 died because doctors refused him a liver transplant. He'd been a binge drinker from the age of 13, his liver threw in the towel. hopefully this girl goes the same way. I really don't have any time for simpletons

It does happen to kids raised in good homes, but the numbers dont lie, your an exeption. Id bet a 20 spot right now that this girl has no Daddy. If she does, he's probably a drunk himself.

You can probably Bank on that.

Looking at her pic in the article, she is quite the looker. Not! She is looking at the cameraman like, "Who are you to judge me?"

Isolate them. It is kind of cruel, but the only way to re-establish control. Drive them everywhere the Need to go, and lock 'em in their room at night.

My Wife's sister goes out drinking every night and she is 19. It is a pain listening to her when she is sober and crying about how her life is getting ruined and how she hates her boyfriend. Then she runs out gets in his car and stays out all night. Dumb teenagers.
