Non-theist (30%) Books, etc. Information link I found the questionaire poorly formed and obviously designed to push towards certain groups. I often found it hard to find relevant answers, but i tried to answer as accurately and honestly as i could. I am not suprised by the results as they resemble ones from similar surveys i have done. I am a christian by choice but one who freely admits he would be just as at home in a vriety of cultural/religious millieus. I am reassured that non theist came at the bottom No god is simply not possible given my life context. As a biblically based christian it is not suprising that i have much n common with jews. I also keep the sabbath day and worship most commonly (when i do) within a seventh day adventist church group (my wife is an adventist) but i see that as simply honouring, accurately and honestly, all of gods commandments. Growing up in the hippie era it is not suprising some of my leanings are new age and as a lifestyle i certainly admire many of the eastern religions like buddhism which live out their spiritual beliefs in reality. (although i have never heard of some of the ones in the top 10) Like wise, despite some critical differences, i have a great deal of respect for quakers and neo pagans, for different reasons. Leonardo Posted August 8, 2009 #11 Share Posted August 8, 2009 I'm fairly certain I've done this test before, and the results were similar, but a couple of the questions have changed. The "good deeds" question is probably what skewed some of my results towards religion. Of course we should all do 'good deeds' but I suspect this question was scored towards religion. Anyway, here it is: 1. Secular Humanism (100%) 2. Unitarian Universalism (84%) 3. Liberal Quakers - Religious Society of Friends (80%) 4. Non-theist (70%) 5. Mainline - Liberal Christian Protestants (63%) 6. Neo-Pagan (58%) 7. Theravada Buddhism (54%) 8. New Age (51%) 9. Reform Judaism (48%) 10. Taoism (43%) 11. You did not like it, but it coincides with what the others say to you - that you are not a Christian. This test does not determine which church you belong to, but your concept of the world, and this one is not Christian at all, just has strong Christian element. Any religious doctrine has some grain of rationality in it, it is just many believers never get to it.

I have chosen to do things from a self-centered standpoint and that disrupted the link between me and God The price for being self-centered is death/Without that link I am doomed to cease to exist when I die There is nothing I can do now to repair that life-giving link But God, provided the necessary repair through the death of Christ Christ's death is sufficient to pay for ALL of the sins of ALL mankind, all we have to do is accept that sacrifice I accepted His gift and now have a direct link to the Father, through the Holy Spirit Sounds like a Christian to me. Marabod, the "quiz" is not actually a scientific accurate tool. You do understand that, don't you? Edited August 10, 2009 by IamsSon
MARAB0D Posted August 10, 2009 #19 Share Posted August 10, 2009 Let's see: I was created by God to be in communion with Him. Of course not an accurate tool. But it still gives the idea. Note, that the points you have formulated, DIFFER from the points of Nicene Creed, so you express the Symbol of Faith DIFFERENT fro the Christian one - and only to YOU it sounds Christian enough. This is not to insult you at all, this is just a fact, because a Christian in the same circumstances would've posted the Nicene Creed.

IamsSon Posted August 10, 2009 #25 Share Posted August 10, 2009 Of course not an accurate tool. As several Christians have pointed out, the Nicene Creed is not God's official check list or anything. I don't see anything wrong with it, mind you, but if someone told me that I had to sign a copy of it, or swear to it in order to be confirmed as a Christian I would immediately renounce the title of Christian and simply keep the personal relationship with God. why exactly? not going to touch on the other parts of the post. Can you expand your question, I'm not really understanding what you're asking.
