Freedom loving democrat's?? My goodness this place is better than comedy central.

lol leave it to you not to understand history ...it went over your head like most seems too.

When people don't understand the terms "communism", "socialism", and "fascism" it comes as no surprise that they also don't know much about the political parties in their own country.

Actualy the funny thing is, I wasnt even making a comment on how our 2 political parties have swapped spots over the years. I was simple making fun of the "peace loving dems" comment. She just assumed the rest.

lol leave it to you not to understand history ...it went over your head like most seems too. the parties have switched names simply put.. those for slavery used to be known as democrats. today they are the republican party. get it ??? the people didn't change but the labels did.

this begins to touch on the subject .. don't feel bad .. most don't understand party history and label . Todays republicans are yesterdays democrats and whigs. and yesterdays republicans that wanted freedom for slaves ? are todays democrats. get it ?

My link

I just thought the peace loving dems comment was funny. Where you got the rest of this from I have no idea.

try to wiggle out as much as you can now !!! a christian who hates the idea of caring for those with less. wait ... what's that called ? oh yeah !!! hypocritical.

LOL, how does not wanting to see my VERY courpted government, corupt yet another huge part of our lifes, have anything to do with not wanting to helping people? Who will be helped? Oh wait, LT please dont tell me you are one of those dumb asses who think this will mean free health care for everyone?? And you trying to invoke the name of Jesus into this conversation makes you the biggest hypocrite Ive have ever seen. I mean, do you really wanna talk about how Jesus would run this country??

The way I see it our politicians are all a bunch of extremists. They go from one extreme to another depending on which party is in power at the moment.

Honestly speaking, yes I do preacherman. I think that all of mankind's great prophets as well as our greatest humanists have agreed that not helping the poor is immoral. In another thread I asked you how you could not support universal health care given the fact that Christianity is so central to your life. You said that Jesus wouldn't support THIS health care initiative because it's led by the devil.

No it isn't, preacherman. It's led by a Democrat. He's a normal man with both strengths and weaknesses. Pretending that Obama is "the devil" is the Republican justification for not doing something that's obviously the Christian thing to do. In addition to being the Christian thing to do it's the Buddhist thing to do, the Jewish thing to do, the Islamic thing to do [when you dig beneath the current Muslim political corruption. There's an immense agreement among all spiritually conscious people in the world- caring for the poor and sharing the wealth is good. A tiny ultra-rich class exploiting the labor of a massive poor class is bad.

I guess this is my weekly rant at preacherman, here. Read the parable of the good Samaritan. Did the guy to helped him get nit-picky about his politics before he lent a hand?

I hate to say it but, it does seem to be kind of true. I know of a lot of folks who voted for Obama expressly because he was black. My ex brother in law flat out told me that he would vote for Hillery just because he thought that it would tick off the "fat cat old Rush(Limbaugh)style Republicans in D.C.". When I asked him what she stood for, what her campaign promises were, he couldn't name anything that SHE stated was on her agenda. Instead, he went into a shpiel about how the Republicans are for big business and the Democrats are for teh working man. It sounds good on teh surface but, it falls apart with teh least bit of logic. I mean, how many of those "working man" types would have a job if not for the businesses that employ them? So, making it easier to do business is actually better for the working man than making it more costly to employ him.

But, back on topic, yeah, I have heard a lot of folks say that they voted for Obama simply because of his skin color. Damn shame really. There are a lot of Dems that I might actually vote for but, they'll never get the chance simply because they aren't the right color or the right sex.

How would Jesus run the country, or deal with the healthcare situation? That's actually an easy answer, but an answer I do not believe many would willingly accept as it would put several of our elected officials out of a job.

Jesus would begin by weeding out any and all forms of corruption. To help the sick, or dying, of course Jesus would initiate some kind of health care option. He would make absolutely sure however that the option didn't hurt anyone in any way whatsoever. Jesus would would find common ground between the democrat and republican sides of America. He'd be the Son of God...so I would think his ideas would be better than those of our talking heads on each side of the political system. He would actually be the only president ever who didn't make any mistakes, because it really wouldn't be possible for him to screw up. There's really no arguing with a deity, especially one who actually is real in this scenario.

Thank you. Very good statement. He would stop the extremists from going from one extreme to the other. He would stop the pendulum right about in the middle. That's a good place for it. But greed always wins over morals.

:D

I wonder if the American public would even accept a middle eastern jew as a candidate.

Can you imagine the smear campaigns? "Jesus throws tables in churches and turns good water into bad alcohol, vote no on Jesus".

im a little bit lost since someone added jesus to this political thread. is it me the only one that cant see the link?

I still cant understand the idea that each american is created equal but then has to grow into a special being who can afford all the nice things, i though being equal means equal rights to things, tell me how some can pay for medical care or university if they got nothing and others have both without deserving it, just depends on the family you are born into. Yeah, we are all born the same...

Paranormalcy

The issue of equality is in a lot of cases, a topic unto itself, but some would suggest that the correct turn of phrase is that all people are created with equal potentiality, "being-wise", their own capabilities and physical and mental and spiritual faculties - but obviously this is not always the case, literally, with birth defects, etc. so I think it's more that the world or system is created "equal" (to what? I don't know) but that we are born into and all are potentially qualified to sit behind the wheel.
