So what do the facts prove?

Recommended Posts

Apologies to V - I love all the studies on the brain that she has posted, but this is about what the evidence proves. Basically though it proves there may be a cause for a spiritual experience IMO it doesn't prove the experience itself - the same way there may be a physical cause/evidence for a headache - it does not prove the headache itself. What it proves really is there is a way to artificially induce a spiritual experience. However, does that mean that all experiences occur in the same manner? I don't think so, there is reason to doubt that. There are also ways to artificially imitate life but it does not mean robots are alive.

So does anyone have anything similar to add? Any examples of things that might be facts but there is reason to doubt?
