Working cello made from Lego bricks

A life-size Lego cello has been built brick-by-brick by an artist.

Nathan Sawaya claims that his musical creation is functional but admits that it sounds "different" to normal cellos, which are usually made from spruce and maple wood.

The artist has released a YouTube video showing the construction process, which involved thousands of brown, black and yellow bricks.
