You say that professional speakers use these so called triggers(Which by you is considered a short form of note taking) to help them "keep on topic, hit the hot buttons, and move you forward in your well prepared speech". By saying this you automatically inferred then same reason why Palin has these words written on her hand. So this applies to Palin too does it not? Refer back to your post # 40 and 41. Or do you want to call it something else now?

Wait... Answer a question for me. What did Sarah Palin say about Obama? Give me her exact words.

Did she mention notes? A note card? Anything of that nature? No she did not. See what I mean? You are so obsessed, you have to sit down and pt thought into it to draw a correlation between notes, and a teleprompter!!! It's actually quite funny to watch you do this.

See, using your logic then, I guess I could correlate anything and make ANYONE a hypocrite! You know, drinking alcohol in this state is illegal prior to the age of 21. Even though that 17 year old is just eating grapes over there, I suppose that he's breaking the law since wine, a form of alcoholic beverage is made from grapes. We should arrest him.

Oh wait, there's a bike riding down the street without a license plate. Even thoguh it's not a car, it does have wheels, and it is a form a transportation, and essentially accomplishes the same thing as a car... I think we should stop him and fine him for driving an unlicensed ehicle...

See how ridiculous you sound? Your sole argument is to keep chipping away to find tiny similarities to try and claim this was hypocritical!! Even though these two things are NOT the same! You claimed they serve the same purpose. Well answer this then.

If they are exactly the same, then why does Obama use a teleprompter instead of trigger notes?

Answer: BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING

Telepropter - $25,000 +

5 words - FREE

Teleprompter - Scrolls every single word in a speech, and can move forward, pause, reverse, etc.

5 words - Are just that, 5 words

Teleprompter is meant to be read and scanned through the entire speach

5 words- They're just 5 words

Seeing the difference yet?

A teleprompter means you don't have to know your speech by heart

5 words - Well, they're just 5 words, better know your material unless you plan on a very, very short speech!

A teleprompter being used at a professional business convention would get you laughed off the stage, and your attenddee's asking for a refund

5 words - Almost all professional speakers have note cards

if you really cannot see the difference, then I'm sorry... That's just sad.

Bottom line is this - She never made mention of notes, and the only way you an justify that you called her a hypocrite is to analyze and stretch by pointing out that notes serve the same purpose as a teleprompter? (When they dont - One is meant to be read and scanned on an ongoing basis throughout the whole speech - 5 word notes are NOT)

Again using your logic, then I guess it's ok for all professional speakers to use teleprompters now huh? Obviously not - WHy? Because there ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

Once again we'll jump back to your logic - Would you call asking the audience what topic they want to discuss the same thing as using a teleprompter? Would you call asking someone you are speaking with a question and then responding accordingly the same as using a teleprompter? No? Why not? Because based on what you said, they all accomplish the same thing!! lol

When I speak to someone, I watch his body language to gauge where I'm at in the discussion and use his questions to me to help keep me on topic and on track -GASP! I guess then all humans on the planet are guilty of using teleprompters and hypocrites! This is so ridiculous!

So I have now commented to, and asked you 2 - 3 times, what your thoughts are then, on Obama's hypocrisy. Where's the outrage? If this event is such a huge deal to you, what about Obama and his slamming of McCains idea about how to fund health reform? After making fun of his idea, slamming it over, and over, and over again, now Obama is willing to push the EXACT same agenda, and pretend it smells like roses...

Can you back this up?

Question - If I can, will you post on this page what a hypocrite Obama is? I want to know before I post the evidence that you're not going to try and ignore the issue again like you did last time. I most certainly can back this up, and anyone who's listened to a word from his mouth since his campaign days should already be aware of this, and NOT need someone to post proof for them. But if you need the proof posted for you, I am only too happy to oblige. Or if someone else here already has links to save me the time, that'd be awesome too!

How about his backroom deals with drug-makers? How about the fact that he pushed the very policies that contributed to our current real estate downfall? 4 years ago he seemed to think they were great, now he does a 180 and claims it's the big bad, mean bankers fault.... (Don't believe it? The videos are out there!Heck, he won public recognition from the Black Caucus and FM for pushing the very policies he now speaks out against)

Again Can you back this up?

Why yes I can! You can find it in 10 seconds on Youtube if you really wanted to watch the ceremony! But are you asking me if I can back up that he's condemning bankers, and the same policies he once supported? If you are, have you even listened to a single word out of his mouth? He has done NOTHING but criticize and blame the current crisis on the banks! (Which he pushed and supported just a few years ago)

So let me know, if I post proof of Obama's hypocricy, what will you have to say?

Palin has ideas that much is true...they are just vague and not very descriptive. For example she will just shoot out rhetoric like "no taxes" or something, she doesn't go into how that will actual work...how lowering taxes would effect the deficit or the economy, just "Taxes are bad".

Basically she is absolutely no different then anybody you know. Everybody has a great idea, few understand the implications of that idea. Everybody says stuff like "no war" for example...that same person is unlikely going to have a good exit stradegy, understand the implications of not being at war, how it would effect foreign affairs, and how we would deal with our enemies without war...all the idea is is "no war".

Politics should not be "oh I like her, we have the same simplistic idea, I want her for office" or in short american poltiics shouldn't opperate on the same principles that made you vote for your highschool class prez. It demands leadership and intelligence and a person with a plan and a strategy to put the plan into motion and understanding what the effects and implications of their ideas will be.

How lowering tax affect the economy has been explained since Ronald Reagan, the difference will be how much and who gets the tax reduction. And you would agree it is too early for that, right?

Are you asking me if it is too early for Palin to get specific? If so then...No.

Anybody can say "lower taxes"(see I just did it and you just did it), having a specifics or a plan is what seperates a leader from the rest, what seperates the average or common folk from the great and the intelligent.

I mean she thought that it was a good idea to write notes on her hand while criticizing Obama's use of the teleprompter. That's like me telling you not to drink because alcoholics are A-holes while I'm downing a bottle of Jack at noon. Hypocrisy. It's noob mistakes...most of us in this message board don't screw up that bad...and we are the common folk...soccer mom's(and whatever the male equivelant is)...so I'd expect more from our leaders(or potential leaders).

Well, we already know she believes in lower Taxation.

Wanting the specifics now is just arguing for the heck of it.

lol okay great.

So when any lefty gives rhetoric or simple generic statements I would expect you to not ask them to go into detail.

If I make a thread saying "Free health care is an awesome idea" your not going to criticize that right or ask why I think free health care is awesome or ask how something being free would actually function and work? Of course you wouldn't you would rush into the thread and criticize the hell out of it and poke fun at it.

But since it's righty fan favorite Sarah Palin...it's of course too much to ask for anything more then rhetoric, and its Fear if one criticizes or laughs.

And how the hell can we say 'too soon' anyways? Was she not once a governor and was she not almost vice president? Is it only polite to ask for policy ideas and plans after they have bin in office?

Don't you know that members of the Sarah Palin Fan Club like AROCES probably have no clue of what her policies are just like everyone else? Why else would her fans gives only vague responses, runaround circles, a link to her FACEBOOK page, and the pitiful response of Reagan?

I am so sick of hearing about Sarah Palin. I was surfing through the channels on my tv last night and Bill O'Reilly had some woman on talking about this feminist's remark about Palin. The look on his face and that woman's face...you could tell they didn't even believe what theyw ere saying. She was saying how us women should stick together and all this crap and how women are our own worst enemy because we are jealous and all this crap. This is so stupid. These people just keep repeating crap that I heard W saying through his presidency. I feel like I'm back in high school when I hear them. No one attacks Palin any more than the rest of the politicians. The problem is the woman is a ditz and this is all they can do to keep her in the news and making money. rolleyes.gif

You are so sick of hearing about Sarah Palin so after watching her last night, you come into a thread about Sarah Palin.blink.gif

So since they don't really do anything we shouldn't know their policy ideas?

Who takes over when the President dies in office again?

Yeah I think I'm done here, your clearly just giving me the old AROCES runaround.
