In New Orleans more than 100 lifeguards threw a party in April 1992, to celebrate their first ever year without a tragedy. While they were busy partying, one of the guests, who was not a life-saver, fell into the pool fully-clothed and drowned... even though 4 lifeguards were supposed to be on duty at the time.

In August 1987, an 18 year old girl, in Egham, Surrey. Died in hospital after being crushed by her horse that had died from a heart attack, her name was Jennifer Squelch.

Joan Rancil of Perth, Western Australia, was commited to a mental institution in June 1986 after she killed her husband and cut him into small peices. She said the angels told her to do it.

Luigi D'alessio, 47, shot dead his doctor in Foggia, Italy, when he said he could not cure his cold.

In March 1988, a motorist from Commerce, California, straped his Teddy Bear into the passenger seat of his car, but did not bother to do his own up. He was killed when the car spun off the road and fell 35 feet. The teddy bear was unharmed.

A steel cable at a saw mill in Chester, Texas, in 1983 snapped. As the broken cable whipped round the mill, it decapitated the owner and three others, and injured a fifth.

In Japan, in 1981, Kenji Urada was killed when a robot mistook his head for a component that needed tightening up.

South African Victor Villenti, 50, was a strict vegitarian, and forced his family to be the same, while he was jogging in 1991 he was killed by a frozen leg of lamb that fell from a third storey window.
