Still Waters Posted March 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2010 The massive earthquake that struck near Maule in Chile, moved the entire city of Concepcion at least 10 feet to the west, experts have revealed.The destructive event, which measured a magnitude of 8.8, also shifted other parts of South America as far apart as the Falkland Islands and Fortaleza, Brazil. cientists measured the impact of the February 27 earthquake by comparing precise GPS locations from before the event to those 10 days later. These revealed Chile's capital, Santiago, moved about 11 inches to the southwest. Even Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires, which is 800miles from the epicentre, moved an inch. Read more...
