jesspy Posted March 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2010 A NUCLEAR waste dump to be built in the heart of Australia will employ only six people, yet the traditional owners who consented to the deal hope it will create prosperity for generations. A scientific and environmental assessment study must be completed before building starts on Muckaty Station. Ngapa elder Amy Lauder told the inquiry they hoped the facility would bring employment to their community. "We nominated the land because we want a better life for our children ... have schools, have employment, have health (services) out on our land itself," Ms Lauder said. link to article
