MichaelS Posted September 16, 2004 #184 Share Posted September 16, 2004 She was an amazing woman. I'll have to see if I can scan a pic of her, and show you and Me_Again. I get a lot of my looks from her... and my quirky sense of humour too. LOL. I get my love of the Military and fishing from my Dad... oh- and my nose. LOL Now for my quote: "You're never alone as long as you remember someone loves you"- My Mom again.

moe eubleck Posted September 16, 2004 #186 Share Posted September 16, 2004 (edited) My mother never fed me sweet lines of philosophy. MichaelS Posted September 16, 2004 #187 Share Posted September 16, 2004 Alice, I have a book at home that I write neat little quotes down in. My Mom also came up with: "Never trust and alien with brown fingers", and "Never sleep with a woman until you know their middle name". LOL Moe, Mom was definately a "unique" woman. She was such a positive woman about life- it helped give her the courage she needed when cancer took her in the end. She was able to say "good-bye" to Dad, and he said she had a smile on her face when she died. Hard not to be influenced by someone like that, eh? The Cheat Posted September 17, 2004 #195 Share Posted September 17, 2004 Something serious: "When in a fight, its takes more guts to forget about it and forgive the opponent than to go out there and participate in a blood duel" - proudly me . 263650 Good one hellfire We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering – these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love – these are what we stay alive for. Dead Poets Society 268688 i like that...never saw the movie, but its a good quote mine is simply: "I wanna love my job i wanna love my life, but most of all i wanna fall in love..." -MxPx, First day of the rest of our lives
