evancj Posted August 4, 2012 #761 Share Posted August 4, 2012 Now there is something you don't see every day! Is the fox a male? Grey foxes don't show up around here very often...or should I say they don't show themselves very often? Love these photos thanks for posting them. evancj Posted August 8, 2012 #767 Share Posted August 8, 2012 Nice! Looks like you were loosing your light in this shot. But still a nice photo. I'm not proud of this but back in my teenage days when I had a trap line I caught a couple of these guys. I also shot one once...I haven't seen a live one since then. This may sound funny but maybe someday I will have paid my karmic dept to those that I killed and will be able to get a photo of one.

evancj Posted October 11, 2012 #769 Share Posted October 11, 2012 So I took a few days off last week to do a couple of over nite back packing trips up to the mountains to take some fall foliage photos. I'll post the pretty pictures of the fall colors in the photo gallery if your interested. I also took a drive out to the middle of nowhere (the great basin) to look for some wild horse's. Not more than 3 miles into my first day I ran across this this unusual site. I have never seen them hanging out in a family group before. I sat down at a respectful distace and watched them for a good hour before the cow and calf moved off into the woods, leaving me and the bull alone.

evancj Posted October 11, 2012 #771 Share Posted October 11, 2012 After the cow and calf left the bull got up and wandered off in the same direction that I was heading, he didn't seem to mind my company, so I followed.
evancj Posted October 11, 2012 #772 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Looks like we had the same destination in mind, an unnamed lake that I planned on spending the nite at.
evancj Posted October 11, 2012 #773 Share Posted October 11, 2012 The bull finally left me alone and I went fishing for my dinner, a couple of cutthroat trout.

evancj Posted October 11, 2012 #775 Share Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) I had to climb several cliffs to get pics of these guys. Bear Grylls would have been proud. Once I got up to them I was relieved to find they had no fear of me so I didn't need to try to sneak up on them.
