Bush defends Iraq invasion

Fluffybunny

Recommended Posts

Opposition occurred from France, Germany and Russia, three countries owed billions by Saddam, all with lucrative illegal oil deals in place ready to go into effect once Iraq had it's sanctions dropped

Sounds like a lot of double-dealing going on to me. cool.gif What do you think about this, fluffy?

fluffy......Is this acceptable to you? disgust.gif ...or will you just sweep this under the rug? blink.gif

No this isn't acceptable at all. I think that just as Bushes' motivation for going to war needs to be examined, so do the other leaders reasons for not supporting the war.

Financial gain is a factor to us in the war as well(Ask haliburton, and consider future oil price guarantees from the country...), if their financial gain was an undue deciding factor in their decisions, then they too should face scrutiny over the matter.

same goes for Bush...

In my opinion though it is a bigger problem to go to war for financial gain, than to not go to war for financial gain...

We will have to see how these things shake out as time goes on...

assuming they went to war for financial gain, you can prove that can't you?

it has been proven that the french etc opposed the war in the UN due to financial gain, in other words, the UN was absolutely powerless because several major nations wanted Saddam in power, regardless of what he was like.

and then we have the US government, where Iraqi regime change has been part of policy for many years.

"for not supporting the war"!? Isn't that obivious why they didn't support the war. Still haven't found anything there so i think their reason for not supporting the war is justified

actually i think you'll find that the major opponents to the iraq war had more at stake than their moral integrity, if i remember correctly, the french said they would vito any military action regardless

So you are saying that it is OK for the president of the US to overthrow a government and kill thousands of innocent people all based on lies and misinformation?

Ok, so about killing innocent people, how about Saddam? So, is it ok for their leader to kill innocent people, just because he doesn't like them?

I agree, I don't know if you guys had hear this but it's a bit from Robin Williams. I agree whole heartedly with him on this. Evertime the US does anything people always gripe, even if we're trying to help...so here's a solution to that problem:

THE ROBIN WILLIAMS PEACE PLAN

> >

> >This may very well be the best thought out item we have read since

9/11/01.

> >Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan ... what we

> >need

> >now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

> >

> >I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan

for

> >peace. So, here's one plan.

> >

> >1. The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their

> >affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega,

> >Milosovich and the rest of those good ol' boys: We will never

"interfere"

> >again.

> >

> >2. We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with

> >Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We

> >would

> >station troops at our borders. No one sneaking through holes in the

fence.

> >

> >3. All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and

> >leave.

> >We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be

are.

> >France would welcome them.

> >

> >

> >4. All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days

> >unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be

> >allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide

> >here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more

cab

> >drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

> >

> >5. No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they

a
