This song, holy ****. Need to understand what it's about.

*There's a bear inside your stomach, the cubs been kicking there for weeks. And if this isn't all a dream, well then we'll cut him from beneath. Well we're not scared of making caves or finding food from him to eat. We're terrified of one another and terrified of what that means. < THAT LINE.

"The Rain Song" never really had an emotional effect on me, but it is a great song. Great band.

Pearl Jam's cover of "Crazy Mary" did it for me.

This has been one of my favorite "sad" songs since I first heard it when it came out.

And this is a version of it I heard at the movies during a trailer for the movie "The Social Network." I thought it was an excellent version as well - this version is definately more of a tear jerker too.

Creep (by Radiohead)

When you were here before

I couldn't look you in the eyes

You're just like an angel

Your skin makes me cry

You float like a feather

...in a beautiful world

I wish I was special

You're so very special

But I'm a creep,

I'm a weirdo...

What the hell am I doing here?

I don't belong here...

I don't care if it hurts

I wanna have control

I wanna perfect body

I wanna perfect soul

I want you to notice

...when I'm not around

I wish I was special

You're so very special

But I'm a creep,

I'm a weirdo...

What the hell am I doing here?

I don't belong here...

Ohhhh-ho, Ohhh-ho...

She's running out again...

She's running out...

She run, run, run, run...

Run, run...

Whatever makes you happy

Whatever you want

I was wish I was special

You're so very special

But I'm a creep,

I'm a weirdo...

What the hell am I doing here?

I don't belong here...

I don't belong here...

It's hard for me to think of sad songs but maybe Father and Son by Cat Stevens.

Do you dream, that the world will know your name
So tell me your name
Do you care, about all the little things or anything at all?
I wanna feel, all the chemicals inside I wanna feel
I wanna sunburn, just to know that I'm alive
To know I'm alive

Don't tell me if I'm dying, cause I don't wanna know
If I can't see the sun, maybe I should go
Don't wake me cause I'm dreaming, of angels on the moon
Where everyone you know, never leaves too soon

Do you believe, in the day that you were born
Tell me do you believe?
Do you know, that everyday's the first of the rest of your life

Don't tell me if I'm dying, cause I don't wanna know
If I can't see the sun, maybe I should go
Don't wake me cause I'm dreaming, of angels on the moon
Where everyone you know, never leaves too soon

This is to one last day in the shadows
And to know a brother's love
This is to New York City angels
And the rivers of our blood
This is to all of us, to all of us

Don't tell me if I'm dying, cause I don't wanna know
If I can't see the sun, maybe I should go
Don't wake me cause I'm dreaming, of angels on the moon
Where everyone you know, never leaves too soon

You can tell me all your thoughts, about the stars that fill polluted skies
And show me where you run to, when no one's left to take your side
But don't tell me where the road ends, cause I just don't wanna know, No I don't wanna know

Don't tell me if I'm dying
Don't tell me if I'm dying
Don't tell me if I'm dying

Another lonely day by Ben harper. His voice is haunting and mesmerising at the same time.

Also ghost of a shark by Tom McCrae

The cover of Hurt that Johnny Cash did has always gotten to me. I like the Nine Inch Nails version but I don't find it sad, just haunting. I think it's Johnny's voice that does it.

And pretty much every song off of the Eels album Electro-Shock Blues is sad since it's all about the singer's mother dying of cancer and his sister committing suicide. Pretty song though...

This song doesn't make me cry but I think it's sad.

Hurt- Better off Dad

Well, my friends think I'm falling

Down the long side

But they don't know anything

'Cause I'm doing fine

I don't think about you at all

Except when I do

Now I'm learning to deal

I'm learning to cope

I'm balanced and poised

On the tightrope

Yeah, I'm totally better

I'm over you

It only hurts when I cry

I only cry sometimes

Like when it rains

And when the sun shines

Oh, like when I'm awake

Or sometimes when I dream

Yeah, it only hurts when I cry

Don't you worry about me

So I'm moving ahead

Playing the game

I'm telling myself

That I'm still the same

No one believes me at all

And I wonder why

'Cause I'm starting to fade

I'm starting to choke

With my head in my hand

My heart in my throat

I'm totally better

Except when I cry

It only hurts when I cry

I only cry sometimes

Like when it rains

And when the sun shines

Oh, like when I'm awake

Or sometimes when I dream

Yeah, it only hurts when I cry

Don't you worry about me

It only hurts when I cry

I only cry sometimes

Like when it rains

And when the sun shines

Oh, like when I'm awake

Or sometimes when I dream

It only hurts when I cry

Don't you worry about me

Just A Dream- Carrie Underwood.

It was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen

All dressed in white

Going to the church that night

She had his box of letters in the passenger seat

Sixpence in a shoe, something borrowed, something blue

And when the church doors opened up wide

She put her veil down

Trying to hide the tears

Oh she just couldn't believe it

She heard trumpets from the military band

And the flowers fell out of her hand

Baby why'd you leave me

Why'd you have to go?

I was counting on forever, now I'll never know

I can't even breathe

It's like I'm looking from a distance

Standing in the background

Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now

This can't be happening to me

This is just a dream

The preacher man said let us bow our heads and pray

Lord please lift his soul, and heal this hurt

Then the congregation all stood up and sang the saddest song that she ever heard

Then they handed her a folded up flag

And she held on to all she had left of him

Oh, and what could have been

And then the guns rang one last shot

And it felt like a bullet in her heart

Baby why'd you leave me

Why'd you have to go?

I was counting on forever, now I'll never know

I can't even breathe

It's like I'm looking from a distance

Standing in the background

Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now

This can't be happening to me

This is just a dream

Oh,

Baby why'd you leave me

Why'd you have to go?

I was counting on forever, now I'll never know

Oh, now I'll never know

It's like I'm looking from a distance

Standing in the background

Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now

This can't be happening to me

This is just a dream

Oh, this is just a dream

Just a dream

Yeah, Yeah

The last song from Dr Horrible; through out the entire show his secret identity was Dr Horrible, who's archnemesis is Captain Hammer. They both start fighting over Penny, the love interest. The final battle between them leads to her death, this song is about how he's lost everything he cares for. Dr Horrible is no longer his secret identity, it's who he's now become, his previous self is now his secret identity - something he's almost ashamed to show other people as lead his love interest to death.
