Still Waters Posted September 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2010 Shepherds in Mexico are up in arms -- or heads, as the case may be -- over a rash of beheadings inflicted on their goats, and many people are blaming the legendary predator known as the chupacabra.Over the past two months, more than 300 goats owned by shepherds in Mexico's Puebla state have been decapitated by someone, or something, that hasn't yet been tracked down. According to various reports, Felix Martinez, president of Colonia San Martin, recently stated that nearly 40 goats were killed near his municipality. Strangely, there was reportedly very little evidence of blood in the area where the goat bodies were found -- throwing suspicion on an unknown animal or chupacabra. Read more... msmike1 Posted September 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2010 Very little blood? From what I saw from the picture there was plenty. I guess the Chupas got full and wasted the rest. Mike
Rocketgirl33 Posted September 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2010 There doesn't seem to be any mystery here. Someone cut their heads off with a large knife and there is plenty of blood to show that. If it were an animal or chupacabra, their heads would not be cut off so clean like it shows in this picture. Besides, chupacabra bites into the neck and sucks the blood, I don't think they chop off the heads and leave them right there. Rocketgirl

The meats not ruined, they have had their throats cut to bleed the carcass out as you do anytime you butcher livestock or game. Next step, hang them by the rear hooves to gut and skin 'em. JohnSage Posted September 4, 2010 #11 Share Posted September 4, 2010 Somethin nefarious is going on, I don't think its bordom, 300 goats seems like a lot for someone lookin for kicks on a coupla Saturday nights. I know its not chuppas, the MO is all wrong, so unless they decided the police were on to them and they needed to change things up I think our perp is of a decidedly more human varity. My guess, some greedy individual wants the land these goat farmers have, so to send a message he is gonna not only attack their livly hood, but prey on their supersticions until they sell out or clear out. Either that or it's a bored Sasquatch who was dared to do it by Elvis.

I only see 11 goats in the picture who were obviously placed there by someone and by the position of the bodies and the water jugs in the background that someone is the town butcher. Note the article says the 300 goats were killed over a timespan of 2 months, not all at once.. Over the past two months, more than 300 goats owned by shepherds in Mexico's Puebla state have been decapitated by someone, or something, that hasn't yet been tracked down. I believe there is nothing more mysterious to this than somebody having a bit of fun with the news.

I noted the time frame involved as referenced by the statement "coupla Saturday nights" in fact its the time frame and the media response that leads me to believe that it wasn't some bored fun seekers. It wasn't until after the number reached 300 that the media became interested, for some one is is just looking to have a good time two months is a lot of time to invest. 11 goats and a "sighting" would have been more than enough to get them the media exposure they were after. Continueous butchery plays more to compulsion or plan then it does to anti social delinquency. Not to mention I find it impossible to believe that any one LOOKING for media attention would not have come forward with some sort of "sighting" once they realized the press was now paying attention. I expect this arguement to continue as (like me lol) your pride will demand it. But I believe that upon closer inspection the "bit of fun theory" doesn't hold up

quillius Posted September 6, 2010 #19 Share Posted September 6, 2010 If they were killed in the place as shown in the picture then the 'killer' would have to move like lightening as once the first is attacked surely the others would not stand around waiting for their turn? If however whoever found the dead bodies brought them to the said location to be photgraphed then again the question needs answering is why is there pools of blood near the cut throat if it is thought the animal drained their blood! have i missed something here? pennywise4321 Posted September 6, 2010 #20 Share Posted September 6, 2010 i personally believe it is a creature i doubt someone or a group of people would be able to decapitate 300 goats in one night without someone noticing. When distressed goats make a hell of a lot of noise. I used to live next to a farm and whenever we went past the goat pen while walking the dogs they made a huge racket. Also wouldn't it be much easier to just kill the farmer. I mean it's Mexico not the USA just stating my opinion
Rocketgirl33 Posted September 7, 2010 #21 Share Posted September 7, 2010 How would one go about finding out if the farmers get paid for the dead goats? There was a time in the US that if a farmers cows were found to be slaughtered by any "unseen force" they would get re-enbursed for the dead animal at a little less than the going rate of per lb beef on the hoof. Maybe these people are just trying to get paid for goats that they can no longer aford to feed or care for. Maybe they will get paid in some way by the news aganecies reporting on it? Maybe it was a good way to get rid of them and get paid and be in the news all at the same time...... Rocketgirl

Drunkenparrot Posted September 7, 2010 #23 Share Posted September 7, 2010 T Oooh, now this is a theory I can get behind. Great point. I'm curious, what do you see in the AOL article that makes it easier to believe that a group of goat herders conspired to kill their livestock in order to collect a non existent government compensation rather than somebody took a photo of some freshly butchered goats in a Pueblan villa and made up a fun story about chupacabras that is now making its way around the internet? +DieChecker Posted September 8, 2010 #24 Share Posted September 8, 2010 The article also mentions that the locals suspected it might be a nagual which is kind of like a shapechanger, or a witch of some kind. A witch might have cut the necks of goats and taken blood. Who knows why, but clearly this is not the normal chupacabras MO.
