:w00t: Enough drive and hustle!? You mean a man who is a ruthless muderer! A man who doesn't care about human life!

But we should have left Saddam alone, right?

Without us, the Native Americans wouldn't know how to get drunk and operate casinos.

Nope, Tequila is just south of the border.

Are you sure? From the Authorization:

Whereas Iraq persists in violating resolution of the United Nations Security Council by continuing to engage in brutal repression of its civilian population thereby threatening international peace and security in the region, by refusing to release, repatriate, or account for non-Iraqi citizens wrongfully detained by Iraq, including an American serviceman, and by failing to return property wrongfully seized by Iraq from Kuwait;

Whereas the current Iraqi regime has demonstrated its capability and willingness to use weapons of mass destruction against other nations and its own people;

we know, the usual trick: Put everything into the bill and keep on talking about WMD.

We know, we know....

??

The Authorization is the official justification for the war. The official reasons for the war. It's not my fault most people don't bother reading it and instead think whatever some government official says on TV is the only reason for the war.

The authorization is a conglomerate of all kinds of things, the theme was WMD, without that lie there would have been no authorization. And that it was purposely put in the world is proven by the fact that the CIA send the weapon inspectors on a wild turkey chase.

If they would not have used the theme all they would have had to do is say: WE is going after Saddam because he is a SOB. Until the last day.

It's that time again...historians from both sides of the viewpoint on celebrating Columbus Day "discovering" America to the eyes of Europeans and he made them aware of the "New World" but he personally thought he reached India or the "East" Indies.

Native/American Indian activist groups including AIM leader Russell Means, Leonard Peltier and Vine DeLoria Jr.spoke of Native American Day on October 12th to celebrate the indigenous/first peoples' cultures and contributions. But in 2007, president George W. Bush signed the law to made the last sunday of November "American Indian Day" to be a minor federal holiday, but a request to move the event away from the "National Day of Indian Mourning" held by NA/Indian activists on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. In Cal. the following year, governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made a similar act making Native American Day on the last sunday of September. Currently, president Obama and Gov. Jerry Brown wants more to be done in improvements in lives and promotion of self-sufficiency of Native/American Indians.

What gets me is that American Indians are in an uproar over what Columbus did to their nation... and he never landed or impacted North America. He may have raped and pillaged his way through the Caribbean and South/Central Americas - but not North America.

His son is "credited" with being the first African slaver of the new world... but totally ignores the African slave trade that existed for hundreds of years before in the Mediterranean and Europe, which makes his son nothing more than a businessman that opened in a new market. It also totally ignores the White-on-White slaver that existed for thousands of years before that...

I kind of like how the historians only cherry-pick the descriptions of Hispanola - being so very "calm" and "placid" with no crime and no punishment. Excuse me? Are we expected to be THAT naive that we should accept a VERY biased account of a visitor? One that either glossed over or was totally ignorant of the war-like and cannibalistic nature of the natives??

I'm not ignoring the horrors he visited upon the natives - I'm just pointing out a quickly forgotten bit of info.
