1912 - April 2nd, Titanic undergoes sea trials under it's own power. April 9th, Titanic leaves Queenstown Ireland for NY. April 10th, RMS Titanic sets sail for it's first and last voyage. April 14th, HMS Titanic hits iceburg at 11:40pm off Newfoundland. April 15th, Titanic sinks at 2:27am off Newfoundland as bands play on. April 18th, The Cunard liner RMS Carpathia brings 705 survivors from the RMS Titanic to New York City.

1915 Aug Another hurricane strikes Galveston Tx. 4th deadliest in US history. Described by residents as equal in intensity to the 1900 one but having twice the duration but flooding was slowed by the new sea wall. 400 dead $50,000,000 in US dollars (about $900,000,000 today)
