World's smallest engraving on the edge of a

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

The world's smallest engraving by human hand has been completed on the edge of a razor blade.

Graham Short etched the motto "Nothing is impossible" which measures just a tenth of a millimetre.

The letters are invisible to the naked eye, and can only be read with a medical microscope at 400 times magnification.

It took Mr Short, 64, around 150 attempts before he was able to complete it.

Engraving at such a level requires almost superhuman effort and dedication to remain completely still.

How wierd. What's the point of doing it if nobody can see it without the aid of a

microscope? This guy must have some serious eye strain problems.

I wonder if that is an official world record ?

miniature engravings boggles the mind and to see it with ones own eyes is even more impressive

I've only seen the paintings on rice grains myself

I find this very impressive too

He swims 10,000 metres a day and can slow his heart rate to 30 beats a minute.

The Wilkinson’s Sword blade is now available to buy, with a £47,500 price tag.

Jeepers! That's what I call dedication! Sitting still for so long before each etching, would drive me nuts!

That's extreme, but probably well worth it at the end. I mean, how many can say that they engraved something that cannot be read with the naked eye?

You are asking why this guy did it? It's up for sale at just under $100,000 dollars. How much did you earn recently?

You are also asking what's the point if it can't be seen without the aid if a microscope? But it is set up under a microscope!

Give the guy credit and respect for doing something we can't do.

@100,000 us dollars? I bet that's the cost of the first 150 he messed up. His wife probably set that price. :/
