Syria unrest: Protests in Deraa, Damascus and Hama

Clashes erupted in Damascus and other cities

Gunfire has been heard during a fresh protest march in the Syrian city of Deraa, reports say.

The marchers had attended funerals for some of the 25 protesters shot dead on Wednesday by security forces.

Demonstrations were also reported in the capital, Damascus, where there were some arrests, and in the towns of Hama and Tall.

Lieberman.... the blood-thirsty zionist........ calling for more blood shed. Totally evil.

If he doesn't sign up and fight on the front line.... there is no war. Same goes for all who call for war on sovereign nations. Walk the talk or shut your face.

KoS: You are giving me the impression that you believe there has been absolutely nothing happening in Syria that could be considered relevant to similar circumstances in other dominantly Arab countries (Egypt, Iran, Libya, Yemen). Are you saying that there are absolutely no protests against the actions of your government?

persia is right iran is not arab.

I think Acid is just more or less asking how sure are we that the people committing the blood shed are the ones we are being told about in the slimstream media as the truly guilty party. I could be wrong.

because the mainstream media in syria, like most countries, is controlled by the government. thus they wouldnt be showing these shots unless they were trying to hang it on the rebels.

My mistake, I was writing too quickly and did not review what I had written there. I did not mean to offend.

West urges restraint as Syria quells protests

A protester in the Syrian city of Homs tore down a picture of the late president, Hafez al-Assad, the father of the current leader. Such a scene was unthinkable until recently. It seems dissent is becoming increasingly intolerable for the security forces, as anti-government protests spread.
