Can you move lava?

what i mean is, is there any kind of material that can withstand the heat of lava? and is it even remotely possible to move lava to form artificial islands for habitation?

There are plenty of materials that can withstand the heat of lava, heck, thick enough concrete or dirt will do it. The problem is retaining the heat so that the lava remains liquid. Forming an island... That is goin to take an insane amount of lava. Remember that islands are merely the tops of mountains rising from the bottom of the ocean.

To expand a bit on what aquatis has said, I'm sure that if you put a group of smart people together they could figure out how to collect, transport and utilize lava as a building material. However the logistics, risk and especially the expense would place such an endeavor far beyond anything even remotely resembling feasible.
