We can't cut education

Every scintilla of blame should lie with the so-called "parents," at least in this case.

I teach in an urban school that is designated as a "struggling" school.

That means "failing" in NCLB lingo.

Is it any wonder we're "failing?"


I have lived in several different school districts and even sent my children to private school. Whether schools are good or bad depends on the majority of the parents in the district. What they are willing or able to do, and what they are willing to put up with.
