I have a feeling there is going to be many more now dead because of western involvement. We don't even really know who the rebels are, who we are now siding with and providing military support. Some troll out there is saying, "We're providing humanitarian support!" Yeah?.. Well if that is true than we'd be providing military cover for the Ivory Coast right now but were not. Why? Because our leaders are deceptive con-artists pursuing their own private personal interests.

the rebels probably were paid by france to create confusion, civil war to destroy Kadhafi, but when they see the rebels being destroyed by him they decided to attack...

It's good training, Stevewinn :P

Oh, and its not just the French. According to CNN, the US has fired tomahawk missiles into Libya... not sure WHERE though.

(and knowing US military fire control discipline.. one suspects neither do THEY :P)

Sorry.. that was underhand...

why are we getting involved.

The usual reasons:

Oil

Diversion from domestic issues

Keep our own people busy so they don't try to demand some real democracy for themselves

Promote the idea that we are all good europeans fighting side by side

use up munitions that are reaching the end of their shelf lives (saves cost of destroying them)

etc etc :(

Because with great power, comes great responsibility.

It warms me to see that this forum has not fallen prey to scepticism and cynicism. :)

I'm... sorry.... I don't know why I said that.

I think a more accurate description would be realism and fatalism

my post was based on personal practical experience in situations like this! B):gun:

Maybe it should read, with great greed comes great irresponsibility? I wonder, if the U.S. had a civil upheaval would the UN intervene and to who's cause.

"Kadhafi says that Mediterranean will transform in battle field because of this attacks"

now with all this crisis why the countries decided to start a war based in internal matters of a country?? will my country be attacked too? because we have lot of poverty and we are being bombarded by government with taxes....Kadhafi was "elected" by his people, i dont like him too but we have to respect it and deal with it.

that isnt what you said when we attacked iraq.

But it is what I said when we invaded Afghanistan.

It's also what I said when we liberated Kuwait.

The second invasion of Iraq, however, I perceive as being an abuse of that power.
