The Trial of Casey Anthony, who was indicted on October 14, 2008, for the murder of her Daughter Caylee Marie Anthony, will begin in May 2011.

Remember this case ?? I'm sure you do, at one point everyone was talking about it.

Caylee Anthony was first reported missing to the Orange County Sheriff's Office (Orlando, Florida) on July 15, 2008, by Caylee's grandmother, Cindy Anthony. Caylee had lived in her grandparents' home with her mother, Casey Anthony until June 15, 2008. According to George Anthony, Caylee's grandfather, Casey had left the family home on June 16, around 1:00pm, taking her 2 year old daughter Caylee with her. Cindy Anthony had asked repeatedly during the month to see Caylee but Casey had stated she was too busy, with a work assignment in Tampa, and at other times that Caylee was with a nanny at theme parks or the beach. In mid-July 2008, Cindy and George Anthony received a notice that their daughter's car was in a tow yard. George Anthony stated at the tow yard and later to police that when he picked up the car, the smell of the car was so bad, he had been afraid that his daughter and granddaughter could be deceased in the trunk. But when he opened the trunk, only a bag of trash was found. Cindy contacted a recent roommate and friend of Casey's who informed her Casey was staying at the apartment of a boyfriend. The friend led Cindy Anthony to the apartment. Cindy found Casey Anthony there with the boyfriend and his roommates but without Caylee. Cindy Anthony took Casey from the apartment and drove toward home, demanding to be taken to Caylee. When Casey refused to take her to the babysitter's to get Caylee, she stopped at a police station, but it was closed. She called the police and was advised she could make a report from her home, so she drove to the family home. Once there, Casey first insisted to her mother and brother that Caylee was with the babysitter and that she did not want to disturb her. Before the police arrived, Casey told her brother that she hadn't seen Caylee for 31 days. She stated that the babysitter had taken Caylee, and that she had been looking for the babysitter and Caylee.

On December 11, 2008, skeletal remains of what appeared to be a young child were found by a meter reader for a local utility, Roy Kronk. It was reported that the skull had duct tape wrapped around it. On December 19, 2008, medical examiner Jan Garavaglia confirmed that the remains found were those of Caylee Anthony, the death being ruled a homicide and that she had been killed by undetermined means.

Here is an entire Timeline of the case: Investigation Discovery: Timeline of Events

Another Timeline of the events: The Orlando Sentinel: Timeline of The case.

Will Casey Anthony be found guilty of the murder of her daughter ?? I think there's a very good chance that she will. Ok, there is no Real solid evidence against her, no smoking gun but here are some very interesting facts:

- It took one month, one entire month before Casey told somebody that Caylee was missing.

- Back in 2009 Investigators have reportedly been able to establish a timeframe of death for Caylee that dates back to June based on reports from the botanist and entomologist that visited the site where Caylee was found. The reason that this evidence is significant is because it can proves that Caylee was killed some time in June, way before her mother reported her missing on July 15th.

- Casey claims that Caylee's Babysitter, Zenaida "Zanny" Fernandez-Gonzalez, abducted Caylee. Casey said Fernandez-Gonzalez had been a caregiver for the child for over two years. However, in the nearly three years that Caylee was alive and living at Cindy Anthony's house, neither of Casey's parents nor any of her friends, boyfriends, family, or acquaintances had reportedly ever met the purported babysitter. Casey led The authorities to at least three apartments buildings where Fernandez-Gonzalez supposedly lived but nobody found anything about this woman, we have no proof that this woman really existed.

- Cindy Anthony, originally told investigators that her daughter's car smelled like a dead body.

- Evidence consistent with human decomposition was found in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car. A hair found in the trunk of the car is consistent with that being from a dead body, also consistent with that taken from Caylee's hairbrush and is different from Casey Anthony's hair.

- Traces of chloroform were also found in Casey Anthony's car trunk.

- There is evidence of Google searches of the terms "neck breaking," "how to make chloroform," and "death" on Casey Anthony's home computer.

- Documents released by the State Attorney's Office in Florida indicated that the same type of laundry bag, duct tape, and plastic bags discovered at the crime scene were found in the house where Casey and Caylee resided.

- Casey told many lies to the investigators and lied for years to her parents, claiming that she was working at Universal Studios when in fact she was fired after only a few months, so she knows how to lie (Sounds stupid but I think it's a very important detail).

Of course Casey Anthony's defense team claims that there is no Solid evidence against her, but still...After reading these facts it's really hard to think that somebody other than Casey killed poor little Caylee.

I can't wait to find out the outcome of this trial.

I've been wondering when they would finally start the trial. I'll be paying attention to this one though cause even if there's no solid evidence against her, I believe firmly that she did it. So, I also can't wait to hear the outcome.

Very interesting case. Although most would agree she is guilty, the very little evidence they have against her is circumstantial.

I agree, that's why I can't wait to follow the trial, perhaps the jury will decide that she is innocent, or she can be guilty of "involuntary manslaughter", anything can happen.

I have the feeling that she killed Caylee by accident, I want to believe that Caylee's murder was not premeditated. But I don't know what to think, after all Caylee had duct tape on her mouth, sign that the murder could have been premeditated. I Can't wait to hear the Jury's decision.

Just another overindulged princess who controlled her parents, had no boundaries and eventually thought it would be a good idea to have a child. She told a guy who wasn't the father that it was his child. Being pregnant brought her the attention she craved for awhile and then she wanted to be party girl and decided the baby was a nuisance, so goodbye kid. Listen to the tapes of her talking to her parents after she is in jail or the original 911 call that her mother made after she found out that princess Casey said she didn't know where Cayley was. It's all mouthy attitude and "everyone is mean to me" whining. Even if she some how gets off for killing the girl, what about all the lies she told about many aspects of her life? Ripping off people she knew? It's all about her, she thinks.

Very well said, I agree with that.

I think the most damaging evidences against Casey is:

- Evidence consistent with human decomposition was found in the trunk of her car.

- The fact that nobody except Casey Anthony ever saw this "nanny", Zenaida "Zanny" Fernandez-Gonzalez, the woman who supposedly abducted Caylee. Her parents never saw her, her friends never saw her, nobody know who she is except Casey. That's strange.

Thanks!

I agree with you about those two things being damning. I think that the fact the she randomly picked Ms. Gonzalez's name from a piece of paper and decided to blame her for Caylee being gone is just another aspect of the way she uses people for her own means. She didn't care if it destroyed Ms. Gonzalez's life. I read that Ms. Gonzalez tried to bring suit or actually did bring suit against the princess. I doubt she got any money since the Anthony's claim not to have any, but I'm glad Ms. Gonzalez actions helped to show that Casey is a liar.

I, too, have been waiting for this trial and plan to follow it. People like Casey Anthony should not be allowed to manipulate everyone to get what they want. This includes killing someone because she decides she doesn't want to bother with them being alive.

Zenaida Gonzalez sued Casey Anthony in civil court for defamation but we don't know if she got any money from it. But like you said her action helped to show that Casey is a liar and that Casey can lie to everybody, including her own parents and FBI agents.

For those who are not familiar with the case Zenaida Gonzalez is the woman that has been caught up in the search for Caylee Anthony. Casey Anthony most likely got her name off of the guest list of the Sawgrass apartments after Gonzalez looked at an apartment. Casey used the name with police as the, perhaps, non-existent babysitter whom she said kidnapped Caylee.

Since then Gonzalez has been fired from her job and was harrassed by many people who thought she was indeed the abductor, all of this because of Casey Anthony and her twisted mind.

I dont see how they say that there is no evidence that says its her, they found cloraform in the trunk they found evidence that something decomposed in the trunk, plus the gradma said it smelled like there was a dead body in the trunk. She looked up cloraform, what more evidence do they need. She was out partying while she knew her daughter was missing, she wasnt worried to go look for her or report her missing. What i find really wired is that they found the little girls body a block from where they lived. That right there says sooo much, it was obviosly someone that was fimiler with that area it was sooo close to the house. She could walk down the street and drop her off in the woods, like she didnt care to put her anywhere far....come on u know it was her ...I find this really evil, the little girl is such a beautiful little girl, its soo sad that every other day someome kills their kids. They look up to us to protect them to keep them out of harm. A parent killing them or hurting them must confuse them so much, even if they did survive it would be hard for them to ever trust again.

And I agree with everything you said but sadly we have no solid evidence againt her, only circumstantial evidence, and even if I too am convinced that she is guilty I don't know if the jury will agree with us, I have seen many cases where the Evidences against a suspect seemed very strong but because the authorities had no solid evidence the jury found this person innocent. I agree that the evidences are there but will that be enough to send her to jail or on Death Row ?? We don't know.

someone else must have been involved because this girl doesn't seem to have the necessary goods upstairs to have cleaned up to the extent that there is no evidence directly linking her to the crime.

maybe the grandparents?

There is evidence of Google searches of the terms "neck breaking," "how to make chloroform," and "death" on Casey Anthony's home computer

this woman is a stone cold psychopath.

She is indeed. And even if the psychopath lacks the intelligence to carry out something like this on their own, they do have what it takes to make it happen. They are cunning and unafraid to lie. It doesn't matter if they are caught in a lie, they already have another one ready and how dare someone NOT believe the psychopath when they speak. It seems she may have found information on the internet that told her the mechanics of the acts. And since she has no compassion, empathy or conscience, what is there to stop her? Sure, she kept it a secret for awhile until her mother demanded to see her granddaughter. By that time, Casey already had the groundwork of her lies prepared. But the lies did fall apart rather quickly, once the police got involved. And speaking of the police, Casey says she didn't go to the police because she was told Caylee would be killed. I know she was lying, but the jury will be expected to believe this. Casey's father was a former police officer. Why didn't she tell him? Most people in this situation would tell somebody, most likely a loved one. If you really cared for your child, why wouldn't you at least get help/advice from a policeman you trusted? Even though the police are supposed to report crimes, it doesn't mean they will immediately. This is one of the many reasons I think she is guilty and she admitted that she didn't seek help, ever. It was her mother that demanded to see Caylee almost a month after Caylee was gone and called police when Casey wouldn't show her Caylee.

That's a very interesting point. I always felt that the grandparents knew more than they pretend. I don't think they have something to do with the murder of poor Caylee but in my opinion they know more than we think. Casey had a lot of friend and at the time of Caylee's disappearance she was living with a boyfriend, so perhaps he helped her, but it's only speculation. But yes, the idea that someone else must have been involved makes a lot of sense.

this woman is a stone cold psychopath.

Well the Google search they found on her computer is very interesting but sadly it's not a real, solid evidence that Casey murdered her daughter. I hate to say it but there is no solid evidence against Casey, only circumstantial evidence, but Hopefully the jury will look at these circumstantial evidences and will send Casey in jail or on Death Row.

Great post, I agree with everything you wrote.

We already know Casey is a liar. For years she told her parents that she was working at Universal Studios, leaving their home everyday "to go to work" when in fact she went to her friends' house. Casey told police that she worked at Universal Studios; when police escorted her to the studio facility, she led them to an office but then admitted that she no longer worked there. Casey also claimed she had been investigating Caylee's disappearance on her own which is why she did not contact police earlier. However, friends and family denied ever having been asked by Casey about Caylee's whereabouts.

Another important lie by Casey: the apartment where she supposedly dropped off Caylee had been vacant for 142 days, way before Caylee was "abducted by the nanny".

The own words of Casey's mother may come back to haunt her. On July 15, around 9:40 pm Cindy Anthony told the dispatchers that her granddaughter was missing. She clearly said: "I found my daughter's car today and it smelled like there's been a dead body in the damn car".

Putting all of this together...I just can't see how Casey Anthony can be found innocent of this terrible crime.

Thanks JonathanVonErich and supervike! I appreciate your feedback. You're right supervike, it is just my assessment and I doubt it is 100% correct. But there are some facts mixed in with the opinions and the facts seem to point to her guilt. Some of the facts surrounding this investigation are things you don't hear a lot about mixed into one case when someone murders another. I think she made some stuff up as she went along and just figured she would get away with it as it seems she got away with lots in the past. I agree with you JonathanVonErich, it would be hard to see her as not guilty.

Here is the link to a new article about the case, written last month: Article from March 11, 2011

In this new Article they reveal that Mark David Hawkins, an old friend of Casey's from Colonial High School, served as an Informant for the Authorities. During late June or early July of 2008, Hawkins told law enforcement that Anthony called him in California and told him "something happened," but said she could only tell him about it "in person." After Caylee disappeared, Hawkins told investigators of the conversation and agreed to wear a wire and meet with Anthony. Investigators hoped Anthony might admit involvement in her child's disappearance, but she never did.

They reveal also that DNA tests requested by Casey Anthony's lawyers on a laundry bag and short that were found with Caylee's remains came back negative for any trace of male DNA.

Yep, it doesn't look good for Casey.

They have this case online often enough on CNN Livewhen it's in session. And on "TrueTV" on cable channels until 3p.m eastern time.

I've watched this case unfold since the beginning. And while she is absolutely entitled to a jury trial, the evidence we the viewer have been privy to thus far via all of the proceedings thus far, the investigations by cops, the lie after lie after lie she told investigators when at that time her daughter was still missing and presumed in the custody of Zanny the nanny, I think she's guilty as sin.

There's three things that stand out about her behavior that make that the case for me.

First, when she was in custody she had been told by someone who had just left the dayroom, where inmates could watch TV, that a crew was scouring an area presumed to be where little Kaylee's body might be.

Casey Anthony allegedly walked up the hall from the cell's area and to the doorway leading into that dayroom and watched the television for a brief moment. She saw immediately that divers were searching a pond, while people were searching the grassy shore. Casey was reported to have had no reaction, simply turned and went back to her cell.

A few days later, she was made aware there was a search going on and presumably someone had found bones belonging to what looked like a child. Casey again came to the doorway of the dayroom, looked at the TV and lost all composure.

Now little Kaylee's bones were found in an area that the reports at that time said was a place where all the neighborhood kids had a history of burying their dead pets. Kaylee's mouth was duck taped and in the center of the tape over her mouth was a heart sticker.

One doesn't gag a corpse! Which implies Kaylee was alive when buried.

And this is the sicker part. The bounty hunter that first bailed out Casey, before the child's body was found, said just last week in a follow-up interview, that while she was out she stayed with one of his female assistants for weeks straight. And that Casey had seemed to grow fond of the woman, though the bounty hunter says no one will ever know the real Casey because she's a narcissist and so completely self-absorbed, everything being all about her, she'll never let anyone see who she is just what she knows they need to see so she can get what she wants. So while Casey was with this woman she gave her a heart sticker, which he implied because he didn't want to get in trouble with the court, was just like the one on the tape over Kaylee's mouth. And just like the one's found in the Anthony household after police conducted a search.

Even while in custody in the Jail, before her baby had been found, video from her visits with her parents show a Casey that didn't once ask, did they find Kaylee? All she was concerned about was herself. How miserable and uncomfortable she was.Even to the point of worrying about how she looked, because she didn't yet have her makeup or anything because she had to have commissary credit in order to buy that from the Jail store. Only when her parents mentioned their concern that she wasn't asking about Kaylee, did she excuse; "Well of course I'm worried about Kaylee!"

But one telling thing she said in those tapes, well before the baby was found, was when her mom asked if she had any idea where little Kaylee was. And what's Casey say? I don't know, but I feel she's close!

Yeah, right up the street from her parents house she was. Narcissistic arrogance and control, even then. She had a feeling Kaylee was close! Sure, because she buried her there.

I don't agree with the death penalty but, since it's in working order in Florida, if ever there was someone who deserved to sit in Old Sparky, it's Casey Anthony!

Who will live to the end of her days with the tattoo she got that says, "Bella Vita" Beautiful Life, while her baby girl was still missing and during the time when she was supposedly outlooking everywhere for her. Looking in bars while dancing and drinking and flirting with men and women equally and having a great old time, like the still picture images show.

When my cat went missing for 3 days I was beside myself. I put up posters, ad's in the paper, made trips to the SPCA left his picture with them, called everyday to see if there was an update that he'd been brought in. I didn't sleep, I hardly ate. That's a cat!

What she did while her daughter was gone for weeks, and Kaylee's grandparents hadn't seen her in a month, is reprehensible. As is the fact that her great grandfather, in the last video little Kaylee was ever in, outlived her!

Casey just didn't want to be a mom anymore. So instead of signing custody to her parents, she decided she had a right not to be a mom anymore. And so she killed her girl. Because the guy that said he'd been led by Casey to believe he was the dad, said that when Casey first found out she was pregnant she'd said she wasn't sure she wanted to be a mom yet. And he had told her that she could always adopt the baby out, wherein Casey allegedly said something to the affect of no, if I go to all the trouble to carry this kid I'm keeping it.

And just as easily her narcissistic personality disorder let her believe that when she was done being a mom, she'd stop.

In a perfect system, Casey would be strapped in the chair with no face covering to obscure her vision from a huge blow up poster of little Kaylee, stuck to the wall right in front of her. So that that precious little face, that future she took away by suffocating her to death with chloroform and then taping her mouth shut with a heart like unto a last kiss and just in case she might wake up underground and scream and ruin mommies plans, is the last thing she see's in this world. The baby is what she allegedly murdered to get free of motherhood. The baby should be the last thing she see's when the world is freed of a baby murderess.

Rest in peace little Kaylee.

You deserved so much better, than a mother like that. :(

Hey Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us PurplePsyche, very well said.

The important thing is : Justice for Caylee. Caylee Anthony was only 2 years old when she died, her life was cut short at the hands of a monster, monster who I believe was her mother.

I believe Casey Anthony is guilty, but I really hope that the death of poor little Caylee was not premeditated. I can't possibly imagine what she must have went through.

Caylee is now with angels, and Hopefully Casey will soon burn in hell.

Sorry, had to say it.

If there's no new evidence brought to light, I really hope she doesn't get the death penalty. Not because I believe she is innocent, or that she deserves to be spared, but because the little that they have against isn't enough for a death penalty.

A lifetime in jail where she is cut off from makeup, partying, sex, drugs and alcohol and all the others things that she killed Caylee for is a punishment she deserves. I realize she could still get these things if she manipulates people into giving them to her. The death penalty doesn't always mean death. The systems drags the time until execution on and on and allows for multiple appeals.

she's also quite attractive so that's points in her favour too.

Dude, please! :) I think she knew enough about hair and makeup to soften her features, but I don't really think she was attractive. (IMHO)

I can agree with that. Not into women sexually, but Amanda Knox is cute (and I don't completely think she did it) and Aileen Wournos was definitely NOT. She was scary looking and angry. Definitely someone a man should stay away from.
