that, sadly, may be correct...not idealologically (they aren't bright enough) but certainly they are throwing hate around like it's the whole point of the exercise...which it isn't.

Sadly, some of the supporters are easily manipulated. There was a documentary on the BBC not too long ago that dealt with the EDL. They interviewed one member, who I wouldn't describe as racist, just easily misled. In his local area an Islamic group (not an extremist group, just a group a Muslims) that were leased a community centre for £1 a year. This was on the condition they renovated it and provided a centre for the whole community, not just those who are Islamic.

Unsurprisingly there were some unsavoury types who decided to contort this and use it to spread hate. It was no longer a community centre but a mosque, they were given it for a pound, etc. This man ended up believing it and this was his main reason for joining the EDL. I just wonder how widespread this intentional confusion is.
