E-Cat Cold fusion independently validated

Sorry the links dont work but original article is here: http://www.naturalnews.com/032455_cold_fusion_E-Cat.html

(NaturalNews) Initially met with skepticism due to claims that it works on cold fusion technology, the energy catalyzer has been validated producing 2.6 kilowatts from an input of 300 watts by Swedish technology magazine NyTeknik (http://www.nyteknik.se/nyheter/ener...). The technology, which was granted a patent in April, is expected to be on the market this fall. (http://www.nyteknik.se/nyheter/ener...)

Inventors Andrea Rossi and Sergio Focardi announced the "E-CAT" in January claiming they had created a reactor that produces massive amounts of energy by fusing nickel and hydrogen nuclei at room temperature.

If the invention proves genuine, it would be one of the greatest scientific achievements of all time and would beat out oil for position as king of energy resources (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news...). It could provide nearly limitless cheap energy with no radioactive byproduct or massive carbon emissions. The inventors say, scaled for commercial use, their process could generate eight units of output per unit of input and would cost roughly one penny per kilowatt-hour, drastically cheaper than a coal plant (http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011...).

Skepticism has abounded so far, and expectedly so, since every past claim of cold fusion turned out to be false. Rossi and Focardi's failure to provide details on how the process works has not helped their case nor has the fact that they cannot account for how the cold fusion is triggered. (http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011...).

But the inventors do have something going for them. They have demonstrated the device publicly numerous times and their claims are looking more credible as more tests validate them. Video and reports of physicists who were present confirmed that electricity was produced.

The latest tests on the energy catalyzer by NyTeknik took place in Bologna on April 19 and 28. The test, as with previous tests, aimed to measure the net energy that the device generates as accurately as possible. The results of the tests from both dates showed a developed net power of between 2.3 and 2.6 kilowatts with and input electric power of 300 watts. (http://www.nyteknik.se/nyheter/ener...)

To date no one has been able to give a detailed explanation of the measured values that NyTeknik now has been able to confirm. But tests by Professor Sven Kullander and Associate Professor Hanno Essen in March found that the measured values can only be explained by a nuclear reaction.

Yet another endorsement of the device came this week as the inventors signed on with a partner firm, Ampenergo--a company formed in 2009 with connections to the U.S. Department of Energy, to assist in the proliferation of the E-Cat technology. (http://freeenergytruth.blogspot.com/)

Rossi is planning an installation of 300 energy catalyzers at a total of one megawatt for his U.S. customer in Greece in October 2011. The one-megawatt plant will be using the catalyzers for profit and not for demonstration. (http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physi...). On his website, Rossi said that a U.S. plant in October is not impossible. (http://www.e-catworld.com/2011/05/1...)

Rossi's website also said that the Universities of Uppsala and Bologna will have E-Cats on which they can test "in any way they want."

Nice find.I was really hoping for a hydrogen revolution soon so we can clean up our skies. As long as we continue to support terrorism through oil contracts nothing is going to change.

That's right I said it, you and me support terrorism everytime we buy gasoline and oil.

Imagine if Japan had the right to thier own energy policies they could take advantage of the polar winds in the North and use wind energy. We wouldn't be worried about Fukushima would we? So who gets to make the call to build a nuclear plant anyway? Is it forced on them by GE, who runs TEPCO? If its safe then why do they lie about it so much always covering up a leak or a spill? Who put these ****ing clowns in charge is what I want to know and why hasn't anyone cleaned it up yet especially GE!?

A whole country destroyed by the stupidity where the people had no say so in the matter, nothing involved the people whose country it is. No choices were allowed to them in the matter. It is these poor people that will pay for the neglect of the powerful.

The same thing is going on here. We in the US are not free to tell the Tennessee Valley Authority to get rid of that nuclear abomination and switch to clean power. These rich monopolists get away with murder in this country too and thier political bootlickers are all to happy to help them in exchange for a few crumbs from thier table. Did anyone see any democrats or republicans champion clean power yet? Obama talked about it but we are still waiting...Talk is cheap.

I'm not impressed with catching Bin Laden, I would be most impressed to see us drasticly alter forever the types of energy we use on the planet in order to heal it. In other words the people of the world tell the monopolies what is up.

This looks like a veration of Martin Fleisher and Standly Pons work on cold fusion in the 1990s I hope E-Cat-cold fusion turns out to be true it suerly needed. :nw:

Practical > Theory

There can be no practical use if the underlying theory violates physical laws of denial, especially the conservation of energy. Any machine outputting more energy than is put in should be examined with the utmost skepticism.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, but these inventors aren't providing any of it. Demonstrating in front of an audience isn't proof of anything; magicians do it daily.

Great stuff, the rich are just gonna get even richer. Dont think for a minute that 'there' gonna let us have free energy.

Too good to be true.

Excellent if true. dmgspycat you nailed it! Cold Fusion is possible and has been proven to work a good portion of the time. Octans is correct though, we need overwhelming and irrefutable proof. Of course we will have the current energy moguls fighting the release of hard facts unless they are against the findings. Keep our fingers crossed because this technology will eventually change our lives for the better.

I too am sick and tired of being held hostage by big oil--way too much has been destroyed by that black, gooey crap. But the old adage "If it sounds too good too be true, it probably is." comes to mind.

It would be wonderful to be proven wrong though!

It is only Opinion that this is cold fusio. Their process very well work, but it is surely just some kind of chemical reaction. They say in other E-Cat articles that they "burn" up the nickel as fuel. Cold fusion would not do that. Somehow they are breaking down the nickel, using some kind of cataslyst and hydrogen. It is basically the same thing as burning coal and oxygen, just that it releases more energy per unit weight.

That is my opinion on it anyway. From what I've read these guys do not really understand it, they just kept trying differenet things and collecting data. They don't seem to have developed a theory and then tried to build a device, they seem to have simply tried stumbling on something through trial and error.

Still if it works..... it works.

Also point out there are dozens of exotic energy generation systems that did not proove scalable. So it will be interesting to see if it is so with this. The speculation I read was that they would just build thousands of their cells and use those to power a small town, rather then building giant versions. Because, again, they have no idea WHY it works.

Trial and error is just as good away to discover something as any other I guess, at least until it blows up. LOL

Still it would be great if it works.

(Isn't that how they discovered Viagra?)

You cannot simply fuse elements together without very elaborate equipment. Lasers are probably the most credible so far. Otherwise all the lead on earth would have been turned into gold already.

Personally, I have always thought that the 'skeptics' about fusion power and other alternative energies were affiliated with the oil and gas industry. People like that usually have an agenda.

In general, I expect most people would be more than happy to see sustainable alternative energy sources developed. Admittedly, there may be some people who have anti-agendas, but I don't think you can broadbrush all skeptics with that.

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask to see evidence of a claim, especially as most of the inventors usually are asking for funding to bring the invention to market, and alternative energy has a rather interesting history of less than solid claims.

I'd read that they powered a building for a year so far with one of their devices. That is not really so impressive, especially for a FUSION device. A good wind generator can do that. It IS a good proof of concept however, and now they need to see if it can be used for towns and city sized applications. If not, then this is a dead end. Like pizo-quartz electric generation. I still think it is a chemical, rather then a nuclear reaction.
