Q-La Posted August 24, 2004 #26 Share Posted August 24, 2004 Sooner or later, the world is going to get tired of finding a way around, and just go straight on through. In the real world, selfishness is only tolerated to a certain extent, then promptly removed. I like your socialistic approach to religion . " You couldn't be more wrong. The satanist is in no way selfish, they are building inner strength and personal dependance rather then relying on others. Selfishness is not the point I was trying to make. If you do the work you deserve the reward.

" rolleyes.gif You couldn't be more wrong. The satanist is in no way selfish, they are building inner strength and personal dependance rather then relying on others. Selfishness is not the point I was trying to make. I also said: All it would take is one person taking advantage of the system and the whole thing falls apart. Anybody who uses an external philosophy to justify whatever their internal desires may be, leaves themselves open to corruption. It is very fashionable these days to claim that any given belief system exists to build inner strength and personal dependence, but they simply don't have very good track records. I know that selfishness wasn't your point. It was mine. What I am saying is that, inevitably, in the real world, there is going to be someone (probably plural) who claims to be a Satanist, but is more interested in the benefits of the title than the actual work involved. He or she is going to be mooching off of whatever system he can get away with, till eventually somebody calls him on his claims and he is revealed to be a poser. EmeraldTwilight Posted August 26, 2004 #29 Share Posted August 26, 2004 (edited) Wasn't "humanism" changed to "Satanism" in one way or the other? They are nearly identical. Of course anyone that holds only one option open for themselves is eventually going to fall, no matter what the belief is. I know the purpose of religion. It's a story to make you feel better. It IS entertainment. And I would love to be a part of a world in which my beliefs are reality. So why not believe them? What I make is what I am.
