The painting was discovered in 1999 and was to become the central exhibition of a Holocaust museum at the Rivesaltes transit camp. Very interesting post Erikl.

These are incredibly unfortunate and unforgivable offenses. I hope that the criminals that did these things get caught and punished for their dispicible crimes.

I have to ask though; why do you post them?

This goes right along with the muslim population increase in France and what appears to be happening, the desire of the Islamists to take over France and the world. You know terrorist style, Fluffy. cool.gif I am surprised you don't get the connection.

What else do the Islamists say....we will kill all of you or marry you? Kill all of you out or marry you out... ph34r.gifcool.gif

These are the extremists...but, hey, the peaceful Islamists can't help anyone blink.gif ...not even themselves... They are shuffled along with the group. (The peaceful Islamists are impotent...they can't rise up against the extreme war lords)....AND WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE US? We can't get help from them. ohmy.gif

I am not saying all Islamists are extremists....I am talking about their leaders. ph34r.gif We have to deal with the extremist leaders.

Sounds like the muslim population is increasing and the extremists will come in and start the take-over. whistling2.gif

(Of course we have to give it some time)

Because he posts every little thing relating to anti-Semtism tongue.gif

I should do it too grin2.gif ... huh.gif but if I were to post every detail relating to the persecution and ignorance of the left-wing ideology it would take up most of the memory of this site. disgust.gif

Therefore I will tell the tale of another victimised groups; the Celts. grin2.gifthumbsup.gif Its a sad story. sad.gif

Once long long ago, about 5000 years, there were these... peaceful, cultured people... called the Celts who conquered – w00t.gif er, I mean, calmly lived in Western Europe. rolleyes.gif …anyway, at this time also there was a little farming town called Rome, and on occasion the local Celts …. borrowed, a cow or to two from them. whistling2.gif But the bl**dy Romans couldn’t take a joke and decided to form an Empire to kick our *sses back to Britannia to get their own back… crying.gif blah blah blah blah

Not at all - I post it because I see France as a warning.

People like Talon and others on this site believe that the things that happened in WW2 can never happen again in Europe. That Europe has totally changed in the last 60 years.

Anti-Semitism exists in many other places - Germany, Greece, Britain, Austria etc..

But I don't post every little thing relating to anti-Semitism - only what's happening in France, because I'm afraid of what is to come.

I don't think another Holocaust will come any time soon - if any European country would try to destroy it's Jewish population, then one of the followings will happen:

1. Those Jews will come to Israel to escape persecution.

2. If that country will not allow it's Jews to escape (but instead hurt them and kill them), there will be a war between that country and Israel.

In the case of France - I think that if the Nazi-like anti-Semitism which is happening there will escelate, there will be no French Jews left - they will all leave to Israel.

Anyway, Talon - I also wanted to show you how your European Union is far from being enlightened - apartheid regime in one country, anti-gypsy policy in another, and anti-Semitism on the levels of pre-WW2 Nazi Germany in a third one.

And lastly - EU citizens fund Palestinian terrorism.

The EU, uniting all these countries, takes on itself not only the good things of those countries, but also the bad things.

The fact that the EU agrees that those countries will be part of itself, meaning that he agree that those countries are following a neccesary standard.

i mean damn france is nearly 10% unemployed...

unless i'm misunderstanding the figures (quite a possibility:P)

9.4% looks scarily high especially for a country of that size

Erikl, I tried to read your post as calmly and objectively as possible, and I think I have done so. I admit that I am not convinced. You didn't offer any substantial evidence, why EU is-more or less, as you affirm-an evil club that violates human rights.

You make a very serious mistake in your argument. You confuse the attitude/viewpoint/beliefs of a very small, relatively, number of people in a given EU country, not only with the general attitude of the population, but also with the official policy of the country and the Union as a total.

You say

"Anti-Semitism exists in many other places - Germany, Greece, Britain, Austria etc.."

In the sense of the phrase, it exists everywhere, and so does anti-americanism, anti-communism, anti-capitalism. People with ideas and beliefs are spread all over the world. It is unfair to pass judgment on specific countries or EU and generalize because a 0.0001% of their population is this or that.

You also said

EU citizens fund Palestinian terrorism.

At least here you didn't say "EU funds Palestinian terrorism". But even so, I fail to see the gravity of your comment. It would be accurate to say that American citizens, or even Israeli citizens fund terrorism. Some of them might be terrorists themselves. Does this mean anything? No. And that is because the actions of an individual citizen mean nothing about the policy or the belief of the country.

Don't get me wrong. I STRONGLY condemn every act of violence. The persons responsible for all the vandalism and violence you mentioned, should be punished and punished severely. I just don't agree with the generalization that you make, saying in an absolutistic manner "European Union is far from being enlightened"

Asterix I respect your way of writting - finally someone who understands what is a legitimate criticism.

To be fair, my lines about EU's enlightement was in the context of Talon and other two people's saying that Israel is the new Nazi state.

Talon actually believes that we are building concentration camps and that we genocide Palestinians, and do to them "what the Nazis have done to you".

Leave alone the fact that all of this is utter rubbish - he also doesn't understand what's wrong with equating Jews to Nazis, and gives examples of other high ranking people in the EU who have done so as an excuse that it is ok blink.gif .

I tried to open his eyes behind the brainwashing, but he continued to equate my country to Nazi Germany, saying that he has done so for the irony of equating a jewish country to what the Nazis have done to the Jews themselves.

After all failed, I tried it in his way - bashing everything.

So I posted a bunch of news stories from the last year, who shows how easily I can equate the EU to Nazi Germany.

But I won't do so, even though it is tempting (seeing how there is apartheid, anti-gypsy and anti-jewish violence).

I also tried to show him the hypocricy of EU citizens marching down the streets holding swastika and star of david with an equal sign between the two, when synangoues are burning in a street near by, that Jews again are not safe in European streets, that there is an apartheid in one of the EU's states, that there is an anti-Gypsy policy in another - all these are much more Nazi-like phenomanons, yet you don't see me equating the EU to Nazi Germany.

On the other hand, Israel's right to defend itself against terrorism, when Israeli-Palestinians can walk safely on the streets of Tel-Aviv (something I can't say for French Jews in Paris), when Palestinians have the right to come and work in Israel although they are a secutiry threat (because one of them could be a terrorist) - something I can't say for Greek gypsies, and when blacks, whites and chinese have equall rights to vote, live, work, learn, and express themselves - something I can't say for Russians in Latvia who's citizenship was canceled just because they are Russians (the same thing happened to black africans in South Africa) - is called "Nazism", and Israel being called "the new Nazi Germany" by both European socialists (such as Talon) and neo-fascists.

Ofcourse, my country has done it's share of mistakes, but I cannot debate them in a board where Israel is called a militant Nazi agressor.

Not when on the same day that Israel's prime minister layed out the time line for uniliteral redrawl from Gaza strip, two Palestinians suicide bombers commit massacre in two busses in Israel's fourth largest city, killing civilian men, women and children, on the last day of the summer vacation, murdering 16 and injuring more than 90 people. disgust.gif

Don't the above statements kinda go against this following statement;

yet you don't see me equating the EU to Nazi Germany.

huh.gif

of course anti-semetism and other racist beliefs are going to be rearing their ugly faces over in europe, socialist countries with high unemployment and bad economies:) let the disenfranchisement of the people begin:P

Bathory, as much as it pains me to say it, most European states are capitalist, socialism has nothing to do with it. Furthermore until other continents clean up their groups such as the KKK they really don't have any right to criticise Europe.

Talon actually believes that we are building concentration camps and that we genocide Palestinians, and do to them "what the Nazis have done to you".

Actually your making this up huh.gif The only time I've ever mentioned camps was I referred to Refugee camps as 'death camps' once when Israel ran over them with tanks killing civilians. rolleyes.gif

And some would call the excessive, needless slaughter of civilians genocide. huh.gif

Leave alone the fact that all of this is utter rubbish - he also doesn't understand what's wrong with equating Jews to Nazis, and gives examples of other high ranking people in the EU who have done so as an excuse that it is ok

Erikle, I've already told you that if it means so much to you I'll start equating Israelis to Pol Pot instead. thumbsup.gif I never recall saying Jews were Nazis, I thought they Nazis hated the Jews. huh.gif Is this relating back to your argument that being anti-IDF is somehow being anti-Jewish as well. rolleyes.gif

I tried to open his eyes behind the brainwashing, but he continued to equate my country to Nazi Germany, saying that he has done so for the irony of equating a jewish country to what the Nazis have done to the Jews themselves.

Dude you talk about me being brainwashed when in another topic you tried to claim the IDF doesn't kill children and instead it was the PA doing it to frame them. You also claimed the UN and Red Cross were part of an anti-Israeli conspiracy. And now your adding the EU. huh.gif Your right... this isn't brainwashing... this paranoia. rolleyes.gif

After all failed, I tried it in his way - bashing everything.

Actually I don't tend to bash anymore, I haven't done that in a long long time. I tend to argue objectively until I get really tired of my opponents ignorance, arrogance, stubbornness etc and then simply start with kind of 'yeah, yeah whatever' sarcasm. Trust me, the whole EU, UN, and Red Cross is anti-Semitic really made me give up treating these debates seriously anymore.

I also tried to show him the hypocricy of EU citizens marching down the streets holding swastika and star of david with an equal sign between the two,

Personally I don’t know anyone who has been in a march where they have flown both the swastika and star of david, such an individual would have to be either a really confused Jew or Nazi huh.gif Or a neutral trying to make a political point tongue.giflaugh.gif

However, its no more hypocritical than someone blasting a suicide attack against civilians, yet condemning military attacks on civilians, killing many of them, simply to take out the single terror leader who happened to be standing next to them at the time.

On the other hand, Israel's right to defend itself against terrorism, when Israeli-Palestinians can walk safely on the streets of Tel-Aviv (something I can't say for French Jews in Paris),

Please, the violence is most likely limited to some areas of the country and society. Most Jews probably do not suffer from it. And as Asterix says, due to the secular laws of France a lot of religions are claims victimisation at the mo not just the Jews.

when Palestinians have the right to come and work in Israel although they are a secutiry threat (because one of them could be a terrorist)

This statement itself is rather negative toward Palestinians, although it portrays a hopeful peace between the two, its ends by saying that they a security threat. You admit that only one among them might be a terrorist, but should the rest really suffer for the actions of one? huh.gif

is called "Nazism", and Israel being called "the new Nazi Germany" by both European socialists (such as Talon) and neo-fascists.

Its the irony we're going for, and the excessive brutality toward civilians. As we have pointed out in at least two other threads this week. Anyway, as I've already said, since you've complained so much of it now I'll start using Pol Pot's regime as an example instead.

Ofcourse, my country has done it's share of mistakes, but I cannot debate them in a board where Israel is called a militant Nazi agressor.

I think that’s the first time you've ever admitted it, maybe there is hope after all grin2.gif

But equally so the IDF is sill using excessive force against civilian targets, the quickest way to get some sort of peace would be to return the land taken in the 6-day war. I'm not saying that Israel was the aggressor in this war, just that the fact that territory has never been returned is a big hindrance in the creation of a peaceful ME. You don't see the Allies still occupying Japan after WW2. Sacrifices and compromises have to made for peace.

Exactly, see how just a minority of people can easily give a country a bad name or make them look bad, as something they are not!!!

They say french anti-semitic actions/behaviour but its only a minority of the population of france but all of france will be labelled as anti-semitics. Although it is becoming more of problem and is getting more widespread.

As talon said, lets just purge the scum that are responsible for these incidents and not point our fingers at the entire french population.

These days I'm reading a very interesting book, called "The origins of the second world war", by AJP Taylor. It almost hurts to see the true history behind the shop glass, realizing how humans can make the same mistakes again, and again, and again. It also hurts to see how world suffering, wars, genocides, can start from the most stupid and immature behavior of some small-minded persons that happened to be leaders or decision-makers of whole nations.

In fifty years from now, the future historian will look back on our world events, and will wonder the same thing that we are wondering (or we should, at least) for the origins of the two 20th century world wars: How could it have happened? How could people be so small-minded and so preoccupied, so very much absorbed in their false belief of reality?

I know my comment is a bit general, without a direct connection to the topic, but when I see all this absolutism and rush to point fingers, I can't help but remember..

"Not all are guilty, but none is innocent"

Well, after being persecuted for 2,000 years (and even more, if you count the Greeks, Babylonians, Assyrians and Egyptians) after virtually every major religion in the region and almost every ethnic group tried to wipe us out, and after seeing that even though we did blend among modern secular countries, still a Holocaust happened in the center of Europe, and almost no one was willing to standup to defend us (not even our neighbors, who colloberated with the Germans to a large extent when it came to "the jewish problem" in their country), you can see how we have become little paranoid.

And exscuse me if I can't believe that a 2000 years' old hatred just die after 60 years.

Anyhow - even you are a little paranoid, that doesn't mean no one is after you... whistling2.gif

And to answer more seriously:

France

Arabs are 10% of the population = large voting public -> no French politician who has the slightest intelligence will speak in tone which is not corelated with this public's wishes.

EU in general

1. Arabs have oil + EU needs oil = EU tries to appease Arabs (and that's including bashing Israel from time to time, as the Arabs and Israel are at war).

2. EU wants dominance in world politics + US has dominance in world politics -> EU will try to compete with US on political dominance -> the EU will side with the Arabs as an anti-thesis to US support for Israel.

UN decisions

1. 22 Arab states who are united in agendas when it comes dealing with Israel, through the Arab League, get to be represented by 22 different delagets in the UN.

2. 52 muslim countries, which see Mecca (in Saudi Arabia) as their religious center, correlate their policy towards Israel (just like Christian countries back in the middle-ages correlated with Rome on how to deal with infidels). That's another 30 countries who get to vote against Israel.

3. Then there are third world countries who see Israel as a colonial power (because they buy into Arab propaganda), and so vote against Israel.

Can you refute all those rational explanations?

Saying it's all paranoia is like pushing it under the carpet.
