ohoake Posted November 10, 2011 #26 Share Posted November 10, 2011 I'd be surprised if this article has some degree of truth to it. However its obvious that Mars suffered some gnarly cataclysmic event that evaporated the oceans and sent some of its crust into space. Let alone created Mt Olympus. Hey ohoake, I am not sure actually what you meant with your comment. But, since you may have questioned the "truth" of the news article I posted, then I will post a similar report directly from NASA. Maybe that will make it more clear. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/mars/news/marsmethane.html Edited November 10, 2011 by rdunk
crystal sage Posted November 13, 2011 #28 Share Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) A possible opening to a subsurface cave system on Mars. Scientists say these structures could be a possible safe haven for Mars-bound astronauts. They could also preserve any evidence of potential Martian life. http://www.space.com/7440-mars-caves-protect-microbes-astronauts.html And we have been successfully growing crops underground for some time. They found that they can grow more crops in a shorter time with no concerns for pests or weeds... so often harvest is doubled... http://www.plantpharma.org/2004/04/underground-crops-could-be-future-of-pharming/ Then if the underground cave system is anything like Earth... there'd be many tunnel systems linked to caverns large enough to house cities... with underground lakes ... http://www.360cities.net/image/suytun-cenote-underground-lake-mexico#-153.82,-8.43,102.9 They certainly look otherwordly... http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/featured/underground-lakes-river/2190 http://pruned.blogspot.com/2008/02/subterranean-farms-of-tokyo.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeX-W859Ras&feature=related MARS "GLASS TUBES": Who built them??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT-IVYai_0k Edited November 13, 2011 by crystal sage
crystal sage Posted November 13, 2011 #29 Share Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) An interesting perspective !!!! http://www.ancientmoons.com/marstubes.htm Also ... Controlled Pharming Ventures offers a scalable, cost-effective controlled environment that accelerates the development and production of value added agricultural goods on a year-round basis. Our proprietary control system offers enhanced production of a wide variety of crops in a customized, repeatable environment that helps developers get their products to market faster, cheaper and with less risk.We are located in a 100 acre underground facility, and we leverage this unique setting to deliver a reliable, cost-effective agricultural production solution, regardless of necessary containment and/or isolation needs. http://www.controlledpharming.com/ And there is no concern of us living underground... it would be similar to living in a high rise... Most of us already spend all our time inside anyway... with controlled atmospheres... artificial lighting... indoor gyms... pools... shopping centres... entertainment centres... As long as there was proper Iphone coverage... computer access most of our teens would be happy... http://www.hort.purdue.edu/hort/research/mitchell/research.html The Mitchell Lab is the lead group for the crop focus area of the NASA Specialized Center of Research and Training in Advanced Life Support (ALS NSCORT). Our work focuses on minimizing energy requirements and equivalent system mass (ESM) for crop growth in an Advanced Life-Support System. In addition, we are working on optimizing cultivation practices for ALS crops and selecting cultivars of some of the target crops. Finally our work carries over into the area of controlled environment agriculture (CEA) research, and we have embarked on collaborative research to develop better, safer ways to produce pharma crops. Thanks crystal, that is a lot of interesting information. What you have shared will become a lot more interesting, and pertinent, when the "powers that be" decide to stop the "smoke-screening" about life on Mars. There is a "mountain" of evidence of signs of life being there, either now, or in the past, or both. And the evidence of life, underground, such as you presented, is there too. So, the truth will come out, hopefully sooner than later.

So, the truth will come out, hopefully sooner than later. As especially they have admitted that the soil on Mars is the same as here on Earth... suitable for growing some crops even in Mars conditions... How can that be unless there is some sort of compost.. plant life to create this... Test shows Mars soil has nutrients for life http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25396378/ns/technology_and_science-space/t/test-shows-mars-soil-has-nutrients-life/ Also note that the atmosphere has increased on Mars... that they now have found water... cloud formations precipitation.. and the magnetic field seems to be improving... What is the bet that we are already terraforming Mars for human habitation? Note all the conspirital sites that mention how all these key player scientists that would be useful for creating a new world are disappearing.. or murdered ? Could some of these have been faked... and sent to other worlds? http://www.apfn.org/apfn/scientists.htm Look if we could land on the Moon 50 years ago.. with the technology of that time... imagine what we are accomplishing now? And the fact that they are initiating a 100 year Star Trek type trip throughout our galaxy to find and colonize other worlds... in the next decade , means that we have got our act together and successfully colonized another world.. proved that it can be done and decided to take it further.. especially with the gazillions that could be made with the mining industry on these planets.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1324192/Hundred-Year-Starship-Mars-mission-leave-astronauts-planet-forever.html

Let alone created Mt Olympus. i'm open to all possibilities don't get me wrong and though i was questioning the validity of the article to a degree, I can your point and you've made an interesting series of insights about the plausibility of life in the planet's crust. If there were civilizations living in the crust of Mars, I'd question just how they could survive the impact of planet destroying asteroid impacts that obliterated the planet's surface oceans and sent a large degree of crust offworld. Consider the hypothesis put forward by Graham Hancock http://www.grahamhancock.com/library/book.php?bookID=3 the colonization of the interior of the planet must have been recent or so technologically advanced to withstand such enormous impacts that it really defies belief. go well

Curiosity1964 Posted March 27, 2013 #34 Share Posted March 27, 2013 What about the book by Ernest Norman "The Truth About Mars". Through mental telepathy, he claimed to have spoken with a leader "Nur El" that states their civilization does live and thrive in a sort of paradise underground and they had to go underground because of a solar fare in antiquity. Timothy Posted March 27, 2013 #35 Share Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) Why is everyone jumping on Martians being intelligent creatures? Ever think that bacteria and such might be the only life on mars? Good man! I can't believe it took the 9th post to mention something like bacteria and not intelligent life etc. The people before you really missed the point of the article... Edit: And everyone after you missed the point too... The article is not talking about complex intelligent life... (And if you weren't sure, the reference in the article to Morlocks and Eloi (http://www.shmoop.co...i-morlocks.html) was not serious.) He's hopelessly wrong.Martians actually live in zeppelin type constructions floating miles above the Martian surface. They have constructed an elaborate network of high altitude balloon based cities and interconnected walkways and bridges. True story.
