I found this LIST giving a list of crimes in the Occupy camps- including several sexual assault reports. Not fun.

I knew there was crime but that much! I think some people are there just to committ crimes. There was no reason to burn down businesses. >_<

I know that there have been many liberal politicians and celebrities supporting these protestors. Have any of them either withdrawn their support or spoken out against this crap that has been going on within those protests ?

I support some of their gripes ( although their gripes should be 100 % against Congress who lets all of this happen. Both Republicans and Democrats )

Congress / The President / Banksters / Lobbyists / The Fed = Our demise

No one supports crime... However, that list happens in most major cities everyday before lunch. :sleepy:

I think the real problem that some have with OWS is that they are shaking the boat. They are not obeying the rules of domesticated society. The outrage at the "crimes" and wholesale dismissal of OWS is just a way to validate the anxiety (experience by some) caused by people behaving in a manor that is upsetting the established norms (blocking the streets, not going home or to work, defying authority). Before it was an outrage at the criminal element, the validation was found in a general mockery of OWS for (amongst other reasons) being "smelly" and "lazy".

Noone is scared of ows, except their victims. It's a farce. It's akin to jersey shore, it's like a bad reality show. They get attention, but in the end nobody cares.

The real problem is that its gone from "Protest" to "Party". They are losing support rapidly and that is more than evident just in the context of these forums. Go back and read earlier threads on how many were so fired up and now they have died down and some are even denouncing them. They have no true feasible goals or message at this point and the crime is overtaking it all.

How many of you are old enough to remember the 70's? Ever hear of the UMW or the Teamsters? They were put into a position where they had to behave in less than desirable fashion to make a point...that point needs to be re-made. Humans are not "assets"...they are humans and need to be treated and compensated accordingly...

There is a great line from the 80's movie "Trading places" that really envelopes this whole situation about OWS and fairness in the business environment...

"The way you hurt rich people is to turn them into poor people"...do not let them make the money....that is a really good way to start change...

Think long and hard about that...it can be done if people stop tweeting and facebooking and start working and socializing...stop supporting these a-holes and they will be forced to have to listen and change...otherwise...your distracted and "dumbed down" self is making no impact...none...

If you want to make a difference...you need to stop indirectly supporting those you oppose...but I doubt that is going to happen...the younger generations know little if anything about suffering and sacrifice for a cause...The OWS seemed to turn my opinion around, but in light of all of this...they are failing....it's not a party "dude"....get some focus and dig in...

It was probably inevitable.

Big conglomerations of people are magnets for attacks like these. Think about how many sexual assaults probably occur at modern day concerts. I don't like OWS, but I wouldn't blame the movement for this. It happens anywhere that there are people.

Didn't happen with the 12,000+ attendees of the Tax day Tea Party rally in Manhattan and all their garbage was picked up. Plus a good number of the attendees were off duty and retired NYC police officers.

So explain how we are going to make People in Congress and their buddies on wall street poor? I have the answer elect the only truly Honest person Ron Paul. He will clean house.

Oh but they want to end capitalism and keep the cronies. Low and behold the cronies support them Maxine Waters, Debra Wasserman Schultz, Barrack Obama, union leaders the list goes on and on.

you imply that groups like ows are a MUST which you know is inaccurate as they are hardly the same as elected official representatives. Who elected OWS?

if that's your take then again you misread. Sorry for that.

Doesn't all this confusion about OWS show that perhaps a litmus test wouldn't be such a bad idea? Some focus would help.

a litmus test is a terrible idea.

are you saying ows wants democracy and it should look like that, messy?

of course.

. Imagine if they weren't kept in check. Half the major cities in this country would be burning to ashes right now. This is a violent, disobedient, disrespectful movement, pretty much everything

This is complete BS. OWS is non-violent.

Let's see. A US Citizen performs his FIRST AMENDMENT rights to assemble and protest. Gets arrested. And is put on your list. Crime? Seriously?

Sure there is some real crime in that list. There is real crime in America. Why should a long running protest movement be any different?

Easy to say but the actual facts are quite different.

of course. the tea party was a creation and pet project of a number of the 1% and other astro-turf organizations.

 Oh ninja.

We'll never going to agree how things should be done. The voices have been heard. Nothing's been done about it yet and things are spiraling out of control. So I ask, just how do you see this hole thing ending?

You go beyond the first amendment when you threaten to firebomb local stores because you have been told to leave Zuccotti Park.

Easy to say but the actual facts are quite different.

Please show these "Facts". There is nothing factual that can back up their violence and party party party mentality. This is no longer a Protest, this is a party and a bunch of people who don't want it to be over.

Here's another newer rap sheet for the OWS movement. It includes regular arrests as well as crime arrests.

I find it kind of amazing that in this thread about rape and sexual assult in OWS, no one seems to really care about women getting raped. Meh, that happens everywhere, not such a big deal. Rape isn't happening in every camp, so no big deal.

How would you feel if your 14 year old daughter ran away and found herself pressed into the floor of an Occupy tent with some strange man violating her?

How would you feel if you fully supported your 18 year old daughters choice to go to a protest, and she got raped while she was there?

How would you feel of your 28 year old daughter was at a peaceable protest, but that protest was targeted by half a dozen non protesters as easy pickings, and your daughter was the gang-rape result?

How would you feel if you reported your 16 year old daughter missing, only to find her show up on an internet prostitution site, being pimped out by a woman that met your kid at an Occupy camp?

How would you feel if police had to escort you or your spouse between the bus stop and work because there were protesters hanging around indulging in public, um, self gratification?

How would you feel if a protester got bored, decided to take a stroll around town, and flashed his genitalia to your kid?

For me I just don't believe the vast majority of the claims. The fact is these protests are against those in power. Who are those in power? The corporations , who do the corporations control? The media and the Government, who is using these supposed crimes as a reason to abuse and discredit the protesters?........... Thats right the government and the media

Here is the same or similar ows rap sheet, except this one provides links for each reported crime.

Impressive list to say the least!! I'm sure it's not the impression the people that started this mess wanted to have though. Who started this mess anyway, does anyone know? I have my own opinion but I'd like to know what other people think.

PEACEFULLY. People are allowed to protest peacefully. If you commit a crime, you're going to get arrested. No one said that if you protest, you're gonna get arrested because of it.

I don't see the end yet. As it is just beginning.

OWS did not do this. Those that do violence should be arrested. There are a few but they do not represent OWS. OWS is not a party.
