'The Machete Murderer' up for parole

A serial killer who hacked 25 farmworkers to death and buried their remains in a fruit orchard is up for parole four decades after the crimes.

Juan Corona, 77, is making his seventh bid for parole from Corcoran State Prison in the southern Central Valley, California.

The Mexican-born killer, known as The Machete Murderer, has been diagnosed with dementia and mental illness.

None of his victims' relatives are expected at Monday's hearing - a sad testament to Corona's crime, according to Sutter County District Attorney Carl Adams.

I am more amazed that such a creep would want to enter society again. What does he honestly think public reaction toward him will be? I know I would not have him as a neighbor.
